GUILTY UK - Ellie Butler, 6, brutally murdered, Sutton, 28 Oct 2013 #2

  • #781
If it's anything like the jury I was on, they will be

1. Putting their phones in the safe
2. Forming a queue for the one ladies toilet and one mens toilet, and eventually the women will say they may as well use the gents also if the gents don't mind
3. Realising that the toilet does not flush properly and calling the jury minder back to ask for a plumber
4. Finding their mugs, tea bags/coffee and biscuits brought from home to share, and working out that it takes 10 minutes to fill the kettle by the tap in the toilets that drips out water
5. When everyone has finally visited the loo, 15-20 mins, and all are seated around the table with their refreshments, they will elect a foreman/woman

So, give them half an hour before they take a show of hands.

I predict they will be back at around 12.15.

no verdict yet - just a bit on the remarks made by the judge

"[They] staged the scene, put on a series of acts, and lied for 18 months to neighbours, the telephone operator, paramedics, doctors, nurses, police, their own solicitors, and the courts, starting while their daughter lay dead and unattended at their home", he said, summing up the prosecution case.
He said it is alleged Butler and Gray's actions "can't be explained away as his panic-stricken reaction to finding her collapsed, fuelled by guilt at not having supervised her playing upstairs on her own and thereafter not calling an ambulance, all motivated by fear his child might be removed from him.

"The prosecution say deception on this scale can only be explained by Ben Butler, selfish and calculated, knowing he had killed his own daughter, seeking by any means available to cover up his own guilt."
The judge said Butler invites the jury to find that Ellie died accidentally, and says the jury cannot rule out the possibility that her injuries were suffered in a fall.
"You should not conclude you are sure it was not an accident, you should conclude it may be Ellie with her particular history, was almost uniquely unfortunate in suffering such injuries", he said of Butler's case.

I don't care what their reactions are to a guilty verdict as long as there IS a guilty verdict, but no doubt they'll keep up their miscarriage of justice act.

Horrible pair. Praying today for a guilty verdict on all charges :please::please::please::please:
Agrees plz plz plz for a guilty on all parts/sides. [emoji120]

I didn't know this?! I think the jury might find him guilty for manslaughter but not guilty for murder

I think they're going to take a long time and a lot of care. They won't want a quick verdict to allow BB to say the evidence wasn't properly considered so there's been a miscarriage of justice. Don't think it will be before the weekend.

Hi - quick post just to say that we should have a competition - "Guess the reaction of the accused when found guilty"!! My guess is (screaming hysterically), "It`s another f...ing miscarriage of justice. You won`t get away with this.." Anyone else?
I think that the judge has been extremely careful throughout the trial to ensure there is absolutely no possibility of an appeal. BB and JG have been a real gift to the taxpayer - not! Their case(s) have cost a fortune.

ha ha

I am guessing JG will launch herself from her seat, she will try and console BB who will be screaming exactly your "It`s another f...ing miscarriage of justice. You won`t get away with this.." ( You have him "bang to rights" Michelle ) She will try and console him but he will rebuff her with some physicality?

Agree with everything you say - their "fights" have cost so much ££££££.

I wished the Jury was as cut and dried in their decision as the Jury in BW Trial. I'm sure they were out within 3 hours.

I'm hoping they both have a short fall from their chairs.

I expect histrionics. I also expect those will be for naught.

According to the Law pages. Jury was retired at 14:00 for lunch. Back in at 15:00. For verdict.

What do you mean GIG by back at 3pm. You mean they had a verdict before lunch or he will check back on them at 3 to see if they have one?

Anyway - I hope they are sweating.
JG is probably in the pub having a triple vodka! Neat. Last taste of freedom. I hope.
