Delighted to hear this. I hope she has the book thrown at her too. From what I know from first hand experience she was a nasty piece of work before she even met BB. Will recount my experience with her after sentencing.

Ben #Butler said he would "fight for the rest of my life" to prove his innocence.

Quick statement analysis - he subconsciously knows he will have to fight "for the rest of his life" to prove his innocence, because he's guilty. A truly innocent person making that statement would have said something like "I will fight until I'm exonerated" or "I will fight until I'm proven innocent". Saying "fight for the rest of my life" to prove his innocence mentally closes the possibility that he will be able to prove his innocence in his lifetime. That's because it's not possible.

Can't wait to hear it Sally La. You kept schtum and returned. ;)

Youre hinting at what most of us thought right from the get go about JG

Very upest about younger dau & her injuries though- we spent weeks trying to fathom why he had spared her - there we go, it was reporting restrictions.
Ditto why no ex GF of BB testified

That was so very JG wasn't it - "Mistake....Big mistake, " She's like some teen cariacature.

Judge Wilkie's handling of this case will have been so meticulous that there is ZERO chance this conviction will be appealable. Diddums

I am so relieved they've been found guilty. It was worrying seeing their defence but I guess that most defendants have professionals ardently defending them, we just don't usually see it unless we're following the case closely.

Absolutely delighted they've been found guilty, poor Ellie was sent right back into the lion's den. Her grandparents must be distraught. Thank you to everyone who has kept us updated with court information while the media has been so quiet. Hopefully we'll hear a little more now it's over. Very emotional.

Butler’s effort to regain custody of Ellie had included an extraordinary press campaign by the former PR guru Max Clifford and was successful in spite of warnings from the child’s grandfather and the local council.

Neal Gray, 70, who had cared for Ellie since she was 10 weeks old, spent all of his £70,000 savings fighting Butler in the courts.

It can be reported for the first time that he warned Mrs Justice Hogg, the high court judge who ruled on returning Ellie to her father in 2012, that she would have “blood on her hands” if she did so.

“My words have come true,” Gray said in an exclusive interview with the Guardian during the trial.

Following a high court application by the media for the release of family court judgments related to the case, it emerged that the high court judge Mrs Justice King concluded in 2014 that “Ellie died as a result of the father either hitting her on the back of the head with the leg of a child’s table, or swinging her with such violence that her head came so forcefully into contact with the table leg … and she sustained the skull fracture”.

This made me cry. It is heartbreaking that the grandad spent all his life's savings trying to fight, but was powerless to stop Ellie being taken to her doom. It is just so heartbreaking. The grandad knew and wasn't listened to. BB must have been relentlessly violent to not be able to hide his character.

It is so sad that Ellie spent her first 5 years in a loving home (and probably the younger sister too), then was cruelly taken away by the authorities and placed with her evil parents. I hope that she was not kept from knowing how much her grandad loved her.

I have no idea how horrible her last year of life must have been. This was all so senseless. What a sweet little thing Ellie was. And brave, the video where it looks like she's trying to block everything out is heartbreaking.
