Who knows what could be found on Andrew's computers /phones or hidden away that could open up an investigation on a totally different track from the current investigation of "misconduct in public office".
imo

I think the thing he may fear the most is being extradited to the US, if the UK charge him with misconduct the US may file charges relating to sexual assault, sex with minors, trafficking or whatever they find to charge him, I think now that Charles has given that statement basically saying do with him what you will I think US prosecutors will be looking at what charges they can lay, and the UK IMO will extradite him as there would be no legal basis for them not to do so,

I think Mandelson and any others who have committed crimes with and for Epstein fear this the most
Out of curiousity have any Americans been charged yet in connection with Epstein? or anyone else come to that?

That's it? Mishandling documents? Not saying there shouldn't be laws regarding that, but this is no substitute for justice regarding the REALLY bad stuff that went on with Epstein. This is more likely a smokescreen - something that happens fairly often (both advertently and inadvertently) and goes unnoticed, with no harm to anyone, but it makes LE look like they're doing their jobs. While it says that he COULD spend the rest of his life in prison for all of the charges thrown at him, it's a stretch to say that they deserve a lifetime in prison, just as a murderer would receive, especially if they can't prove that anyone was harmed as a result. We've seen how these play out before: the accused gets over-charged, with hopes of a plea bargain; charges are thrown out, and whether there's a plea or a trial, the end result is a sentence nothing near the maximum that was in the headlines at first. The prosecutors can say, "We got him," showing the true intentions they had from the start; the defendant goes away for a little while, but can still credibly claim that the worst accusations are bogus. Everybody wins, but nobody wins.

He has yet to be charged.

They are holding him while they do their ‘searching’ for ecpvidence.

He has to be charged or released within 24 hrs.

How embarrassing for him but he shouldn’t have participated in this saga! I wonder if Maxwell alluded to anything about AM illegal activities.

This reminds me of how a national football player who has literally no other means to make a living but he gets suspended for drugs, assault and theft and ends up losing his contracted millions. He has to go back to living rough on the streets. How stupid!

AM didn’t have need of anything. He had wealth, beautiful homes, chefs, travels, prestige, protection, respect and the best of anything else that he wanted. And then he does these immoral things and loses everything. How stupid!

What did he think he would gain by participating in this? You can’t get much higher than being born a royal.

I think only Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Jean-Luc Brunel was arrested, but I don't think US citizen.

Up to 96 hrs with approval by a magistrate but that would be very unusual.

As they should! His behavior has been utterly vile. He doesn't deserve to be protected anymore.

He deserves more than mere "mishandling of documents" but at least it's a start, and does carry a very grave prison sentence.

Indeed, although it's not clear his horrible sexual misconduct crosses the line into being criminal. The UK age of consent is 16. If he slept with a 17-year-old USian in the UK, that's not a crime.

It will be money, not sex, that brings these two down, IMO. Andrew Lownie thinks Sarah was into Epstein not for the $10,000 in the emails seen so far but for $3,000,000 or more. The £12 million chalet she bought and sold in Switzerland was impossible with her own money - she's broke - so whose did she use and why was it lent?

Follow the money with these two.
Who paid for his trips to Epstein's residences?

Was he meeting with business opportunities for the UK while staying at Epstein;s NYC apartment?
imo

Nothing's been announced yet, but the police have got 24 hours to either charge him, or release him on bail.

If he’s smart he won’t try to talk his way out. He needs an attorney to speak for him. Moo

Not a chance he's ever in general population. JMO

He’s likely looking at ankle bracelets and daily call ins to a ‘special officer’. IMO

The man is an absolute disgrace.
I hope eventually he will have to pay for all his crimes.

It’s appalling that he has got away with his vile behaviour all these years.

Parents take note. This is what happens when parents have favourited.

Vile behaviour is not usually criminal.

We all have limits on what we think is okay, they vary from person to person.

It’s not about his lack of morals or how people view him.

It’s about the law and being able to get a conviction on any charges that are laid.

See my issue is I am not saying Andrew should not be done for his part in what happened, far from it but what I dont understand is a lot have names have been revealed and yet he is the only one they seem to want. Why not go after them all?

He may genuinely be so dim he had no idea he could have been breaking the law.
Moo .. he had a “pay to play” scheme, using his connections, Buckingham Palace and other properties to entertain and entice.

Moo… Charles knew but couldn’t convince the Queen. (I loved the Queen, but she had weaknesses when it to Andrew)

I believe William and Catherine have known for a long time and distance themselves from them. Moo

Sad day for the Royal Family

Middle class professionals sometimes get busted for work expenses fraud in trivial sums. There was a case in London a few years ago of a wealthy fund manager who had dodged the train fare to work for about 6 years. In such cases, they could easily afford to pay up, or not steal. They're just certain they won't get caught. So they pay no heed to the consequences. Crazy but common.

On the emails seen so far his case looks a lot worse to me. Randrew was not in government whereas Mandelson was.

The consulting company Mandelson co-founded is about to enter administration -- and they aren't pulling their punches in attributing the collapse to the reputational risk he poses:

Edward's her youngest.

Like when he tried to talk his way out in the infamous televised interview. That backfired!
