If she's took her rings off etc I think she's had a bust up with her partner.. if they meant anytihng she'd of kept them on being sentimental and all that. Think she's committed suicide. Maybe she thought the coat would help her float.

Plus husband hasn't been willing to comment. A lot more to this behind scenes, seems like she's has dome kind of mental episode.

There is more detail of the “yoga pose” here. It sounds like the witness interpreted it as upward facing dog.

“"I don't know what the pose is called but it's where you lie on the floor and arch your back and head upwards.” https://www.itv.com/news/anglia/202...r-lord-seen-doing-yoga-in-last-known-sighting

Maybe Gaynor was doing a Sun salutation. Anyway, she wasn’t just sitting on her coat contemplating or praying or whatever.
FWIW (starting down with section Types):

Head facing up and back arched sounds more like cobra to me, but they are similar.

The shedding of items across the area seems like a disorganised action, suggesting to me distress or confusion. She was also not in the area people seem to think she should have been. But this is just my opinion based on the little we know.

MOO
I agree. Similar to the Gaia Pope case, where she shed her clothing during a MH crisis.

I think in Gaia's situation, hypothermia makes one feel warm and I think that was a theory about why she was removing her clothes.

Sadly I think this could be along the lines of a medical emergency. I fear a condition could have made her remove her clothing etc. I remember a young girl that went missing several years ago. They found her clothes etc in a field and then found her body days later. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name or the fine details but I believe it was a condition that would have made her feel really hot suddenly. I know hypothermia does that but I don't think they found that, that was the reason.
Gaia Pope.

They are also expecting us to crack the case…
Sounded more like they thought the sleuthing/ attention would have a negative effect.

I knew someone who suffered from epileptic seizures from time to time. They would act oddly before one came on,then break out into a sweat as the body tries to cool itself down from the brain activity and they would try to take their clothes off. Just a suggestion.
Something like this could provide a simple explanation. If she then went into the water she could easily have gone into thermal shock and been unable to get out again. Not sure the rings fits fully with this unless her hands felt like they were burning?

I think in the Gaia Pope case it was called paradoxical undressing, where the clothes were removed and scattered. I'm not entirely sure but when the body is very cold it can feel like the skin is burning, and maybe that's partly why people with hypothermia feel a desperate need to remove clothing as they would not only feel hot but having something next to the skin might also feel painful to them? Would this have set in for GL in less than 4 hours when she did have a warm coat on? Unlike Gaia, GL could have walked a short way and found a warm coffee shop, surely? But an emergency like a seizure would explain an apparently illogical decision being made.

By leaving her rings, is Gaynor symbolically ending her relationship with her husband?

ETA - in catching up with the thread, I see that @Loulou38 may be thinking along the same lines.

I feel like the whole yoga thing doesn't sit with the rest of it. Also wondering about the second husband who is very quiet although I totally also get why he would want to be. And am wondering if maybe GL was rushing to a medical appointment in the vicinity of the cathedral area. Bad news? The rushing implies to me some sort of meeting or appointment that she didn't want to be late for. Not sure one would rush like that to pray. MOO.

Having read in the news that she called her friend at 2.15 and asked where she was, despite seemingly not being super close (previously saying they would meet for tennis in the spring), I was wondering if she was intending to ask the friend to do a favour/run an errand for her. Maybe the friend was someone she expected would be in the city at that time.
Unable to get someone to do this for her, she then realised she would have to do it herself, hence leaving work early in a hurry and seeming in a rush.
No theory as to what the errand would be though.
If GL was desperate for some reason, maybe she wanted to meet the friend for being not alone and haven't to do something to herself. A last chance perhaps.

Didn't she want to be identified by her rings, when found possibly only months later?

It’s bothering me. If it’s as police suspect/report their theory is she went in the river, why is this getting so much press coverage considering the uproar caused by the NB case. JMO
If the press learn a formula for getting clicks, they'll use it again.

My thoughts are that she was at work. Something came up prompting her to call the friend at 2.15. She asked where her friend was which possibly implies she wanted to know if the friend could do her a favour and meet her in the city/ collect something for her/ meet someone on her behalf/ help her. She finds out that the friend is at home and otherwise engaged. This means Gaynor must leave work early and do this thing herself.
She leaves and hurries towards the meeting place/ collection place. She is there for approx 1 hour (close to cathedral). This then leads to her going to park. It is dark at 4.

I would suspect that there is a triggering event probably coming in via Gaynor’s phone. She needs to act on something and calls her friend for some sort of support. Her first words to friend are “where are you, where are you?” (See media report from Julie Butcher). Friend clearly not available so G has to leave work and hurry to the place of interest. If she is in the cathedral grounds/ area for approx 1 hour then is she waiting for someone / looking for someone? Is she successful. Why then head to Wensum Park in darkness?
She only puts coat on after leaving cathedral area?
Is this because she met someone there and wanted to look smarter without coat?

I think she was only in the cathedral area for just over half an hour, but that time is so crucial - if the police know what she did there they will have a massive lead on this IMO. I've been wondering if GF rang her friend to accompany her to a medical appointment and the police now know this because the GP or medical professional informed them of it. It was clearly something that she had to leave work early for and was in a rush to get to.

This witness really needs to shut up and stop talking to the media.

She’s loving the media attention and I question her reliability.

This is somebodies wife and childrens mother - it’s not a soap opera.

I think the rings are taken off either for that reason or so they can be given to her children. Slightly different but when my mother died she gave me her wedding ring and I wear it on a necklace around my neck.

<modsnip - off topic>

There hasn't been any mention of CCTV footage showing her at work, in the hours prior to leaving early.
Maybe there is something on there to indicate that something happened, or shows her acting irrationally? The photo of her just before leaving is very odd. She is smiling and looking directly at the camera.
