No sightings normally suggests that somebody has not travelled far but is not always the case.
Particularly in this case with somebody running/panicking it is hard to imagine they would not be spotted at all unless they went into a vehicle quite quickly but why would that have happened?
Unfortunately water seems the most likely.

He’s been missing for too long already :(

There was recently another case in UK regarding an elderly man who went missing after leaving a note that he was suffering from a panic attack. It didn’t end well.

I’m afraid it doesn’t look too good at all for Harry, either. I do hope I’m mistaken!

If they’ve done thorough public searches including any openings in the ground then the only place left is inside a private building. Other possibilities are self harm or harmed by another

I don’t understand why no specific details are being passed on to the public by the family via the Facebook group or by the the police.
I think the reasons for the disappearance could go back much further than the day he is alleged to have gone missing.

UPDATE | We are continuing our efforts to find Harjinder Takhar, known as Harry.

The 58-year-old father of four has been missing from Telford since Sunday 2 October.

He was last seen wearing a navy-blue Barbour jacket, navy-blue shirt, black jeans and black trainers.

Detective Inspector Jo Whitehead said: “This remains a missing person enquiry and our team of detectives are exhausting every avenue available to us to try and find Harry.

“Harry’s disappearance is not connected to any other investigation.

“We urge the public to only phone 999 if you believe you have genuine information that could help find him.

“If you do have information, please call 999 immediately and do not post on social media.

“Any delay in providing information is counterproductive to our investigation and unfair for Harry’s family.

“Our searches remain around Stirchley Pools and we have no evidence to suggest Harry may be in any other area.

“While we very much appreciate the public’s support we ask that no-one attempts to search the Stirchley Pools area themselves.

“It is potentially dangerous and the public could get into difficulty if they try to access the area.

“Everyone at West Mercia Police, and Harry’s family, remain extremely concerned for him and we are doing everything we can to find him.”

I have come to the same conclusion. I think he is in the wooded area. Even SAR teams and cadaver dogs can miss things. An extensive area needs more people to search it. Maybe SAR should start doing supervised searches too, with the public who wish to volunteer

I haven't seen any update this last few days of the searches around Stirchley Pools, I presume they have taken place but with no sign of Harry.

Has it ever been mentioned the last time Harry was seen or spoken to by someone other than his immediate family?

The family of missing Telford man Harjinder Takhar have thanked two football clubs in Shropshire and the West Midlands for their help in the appeal for information on his whereabouts.

An appeal was put out on the big screen at The Hawthorns during West Bromwich Albion's game with Sheffield United yesterday and AFC Telford United also put a picture of the missing poster on their twitter feed.
The Takhar family lived around the Smethwick and Greater Birmingham area before moving to Telford around three years ago.

Officers searching for missing Telford man Harry Takhar are urging anyone with any information about his whereabouts to contact police a month after he was reported missing.

The 58-year-old father of four has been missing since Sunday 2 October when he was last seen heading in the direction of a wooded area near Stirchley Pools in the town at around 8.30am.

Harjinder, who is known as Harry, was last seen wearing a navy-blue Barbour jacket, navy-blue shirt, black jeans and black trainers.

Detective Inspector Jo Whitehead said: “Harry has such a loving family who are desperate to find him. Since he was reported missing we have carried out extensive enquiries both before and after the time he was last seen.

“Over the past month officers have carried out searches in very challenging terrain, such as water pools, disused canals, thick undergrowth, underground cave network and underground storm drain network.

“We are continuing with our searches using specialist equipment and support from other agencies and specialist dogs from across the UK have also been utilised. They will be returning to Telford again in the coming days to help with our efforts.

“While we very much appreciate the public’s support we ask that no-one attempts to search the Stirchley Pools area themselves. It is potentially dangerous and the public could get into difficulty if they try to access the area.

“Social media has been brilliant for spreading awareness but it does bring challenges. I must urge people who believe they have relevant information regarding Harry’s whereabouts to contact police via 999.

“It also remains very important that we stress this continues to be a missing person enquiry, and not a criminal investigation.”

Anyone with any information regarding Harry’s whereabouts is asked to call 999 immediately.

Nothing mentioned except for last sighting by family when he ran off

Wonder if any familial connection with this man? Not sure how common the surname is, but same area.

Great find
I’ve checked social media. Don’t think they’re related. Although, Oldbury and Smethwick are very close to each other.
Not a common surname, although like English surnames; they may have common ancestors or originate from the same area historically.

The family of a man missing for five weeks has said his relatives remain "very positive" he will be found.

Harjinder Takhar, 58, went missing in woodland near Stirchley Lane in Telford, Shropshire, on 2 October.

West Mercia Police said Mr Takhar had "seemingly disappeared without any further trace" after recent struggles with his mental health.

His wife, Ran, said the family was "still in shock", saying: "It just seems so surreal".

[...]

Mrs Takhar believes her husband would have left the woods, which they knew very well due to daily dog walks there.

"My gut's telling me he's left the woods," she said.

I think the reasons for the disappearance could go back much further than the day he is alleged to have gone missing.

Could it be linked to his company that went into liquidation with debts of almost £2 Million?
Why did they have to sell the family home in Birmingham for £815k?
Why did they suddenly move to Telford in 2019 after spending there whole life in Birmingham?
Are their financial problems? Was Harry a gambler or alcoholic or have some other addiction he was trying to leave behind in Birmingham?
If so has this situation resurfaced recently in Telford?
Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree.
He had a political party back in 2010 - the impact party (friends with David Cameron according to news articles)

All very bizarre - one report said they were on way to walk dogs another said off to visit friends. He climbed from front passenger seat to back to escape via his sons back passenger door ?! That suggested front doors were locked and they didn’t want him to get out.
