Mrs McElhennon's sister Teresa Kidd has thanked everyone who has helped to try and find her sister and urged anyone who can assist to get in touch.

Speaking to Belfast Live, she said: "It is proving to be a stressful time for all of the family because we are going around in circles at the moment.

"If we had one inkling of hope, if she was just seen somewhere, it would be a great help but we have nothing to go on.

"We are just trying to get her face out there as much as possible so that the wider public may be able to recognise her.

"We know that she left her car near the Foyle Bridge in Derry on Sunday morning but we have no confirmed CCTV or sightings of her.

"People have been searching in Derry, Buncrana and Letterkenny but because there is no trace of her disappearance, no card transactions, no sightings, we don't know where to turn.

"We just really want her to come home, everybody loves her and misses her.

"We want nothing but the best for Helena.

"As a family, we want to help her and get her home safely."

Sadly doesn't look promising, lots of posts about suicide awareness and baby loss on Helena's Facebook. Car found close to a bridge.....hope I'm wrong.
I agree with your train of thought and it was the first thing I thought about when I read the post . I hope that I’m wrong and she returns home safely to her family .

It’s been exactly one week since Helena McElhennon from Draperstown was reported missing to us and, this morning (Sunday 1 December), we are appealing to you to help us with our enquiries.

Helena, who is 42 years old, was last seen on Sunday, 24th November at around 11am in the area of the lay-by on the city end of the Foyle Bridge in Derry/Londonderry.

We believe Helena had got out of her vehicle - a black Mitsubishi Outlander (pictured) - at the lay-by and, at this time, she was wearing a long brown, possibly black dress.

We want to trace Helena’s last movements, so this morning we will be present at the lay-by on the Foyle Bridge where Helena was last seen and handing out leaflets in a bid to jog people’s memories. Helena’s Mitsubishi is also here, and we hope that anyone who remembers seeing Helena, or her vehicle, will come and speak to us in our mobile station.

Helena is described as being 5’ 4’’ tall, with short dark hair and of a slim build.

Were you in the area last Sunday, around 11am, driving on the bridge or out walking?

If you were, think back to who saw at this time.

Do you think you may have seen Helena, or saw her driving in the area? Perhaps you’ve captured what may have been her vehicle on your dashcam.

If you have any information, no matter how small, please come and tell us at our mobile station today.

You can also give information by calling us on 101 and quoting reference number 771 of 24/11/19.
