A human leg has been found washed up on a South Ayrshire beach, police have confirmed.
The dismembered limb was discovered on the shore at Prestwick last week.
Police Scotland said in a statement that they received a report of human remains being discovered at about 10:45 on Tuesday 10 June.
Officers said inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
