Lostprophets' Ian Watkins Faces Summer Trial

Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins is to go on trial in the summer accused of conspiracy to rape a baby.

This and other charges were expected to be formally put to the 35-year-old when he appeared at Cardiff Crown Court via videolink.

But a series of technical hitches prevented the hearing from going ahead, and it was adjourned to an unspecified date at the end of May.

Judge Eleri Rees, the Recorder of Cardiff, nonetheless set the eventual trial date for the week beginning June 15............

The singer of rock band Lostprophets was today accused of raping a baby.

Ian Watkins, 35, allegedly twice raped the child who was under 12 months old at the time.

A date has been set for the trial of Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins on sexual offences including raping a baby.
