Tricia, me too ... just knowing a person in my 'orbit' has perverted and lascivious thoughts over children would raise the hair on my back and I too, would not want any kids within his sights. A small saving grace would be the person must have real courage to confront an appalling vice before it strikes and would, one prays, be in serious counseling - thereby trained to alter his thought processes as and when such thoughts / visions occur. Depressing state of affairs, though, because (some say) it's just a ticking time-bomb.

The person may confront and be in control of this issue at 20 - but who knows what he / she would do 5, 10, 20 (or ?) years later. Scary.

Thanks for reading and contributing PolkSaladAnnie. I don't think monitoring, therapy & counselling could ever cease really in a situation like this so that the support systems are still in place when and if needed.

It is a depressing state of affairs but child sex offenders aren't the only criminal category that this applies to.
