Devon and Cornwall Police are concerned for the welfare of a 53-year-old man from Cornwall.

James Parsons was last seen in the area of Harbour Road at around 7pm on Friday 22 April. James is believed to have many nicknames including 'Jimmy', 'Frank' and 'Fran' which he may be better known as.

He is described as a white male, around 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build. He has brown/grey wavy hair which is balding at the back and is clean shaven. He was last seen wearing blue shorts and a black hoodie.

Devon and Cornwall Police, in an updated post, have appealed for residents in the Porthleven area to check their gardens, sheds, garages and any insecure outbuildings as searches continue for missing man, James Parsons.

The comments to the latest post are interesting because they contain a link to footage taken at the Porthleven Food Festival, showing Frank there at around 21:40 (i.e. somewhat later than the previously stated "last seen" time of 19:00). If you watch the video from 00:39 seconds in, you see two women leave, with Frank following closely behind. It is not possible to know whether Frank was leaving with these women or whether the timing of his exit was purely coincidental with theirs.

My heart sank when I saw he had gone up on the pier, I know Porthleven beach and pier well, the waves can come up over and take anyone back with them in seconds there, I can only hope he is safe and well and this is just my overthinking. Beautful place but treacherous rocky areas too, being from Truro he probably is well aware of the landscape though. Hoping for a good outcome here

The hoodie on the beach believed to be worn by Frank was found on the beach but police are appealing for ownership. Anyway know what this means? Perhaps Frank was cold and borrowed a hoodie from someone but we dont think Frank owned the hoodie.

The family of James Parsons, who has been missing since April 22, have shared his last known movements at the food festival where he disappeared. James, also known as Frank, Fran, or Jimmy, vanished without a trace after a night at Porthleven Food Festival.

Frank went to the popular three-day event with wife Vicky on April 22, as they have done each year. The 53-year-old stayed on when his wife had to be called away unexpectedly at 7pm and hasn’t been seen by them since.

Information released by police and his family - wife of over 25 years Vicky and children Emily, 25, and Ryan, 21 - give an idea of his last movements. Frank’s family hope this might jog someone’s memory from the night.

Vicky last saw Frank at 7pm. At this point, they were in the area of Harbour Road, Porthleven. Frank, of Truro, was wearing blue shorts and a black hoodie and is white, around 5ft 10in and of medium build. He has brown-grey wavy hair which is balding at the back, and was clean shaven on the day of the festival.

The next sighting of Frank was at 9.40 to 9.50pm on the night. The festival’s Instagram page showed that he was still on the site. Video footage of a set by band Company B showed Frank walking past at this point. A screenshot showed Frank in the midst of the band’s crowded audience in the music and bar tent.

Around the same time, at 9.44pm, CCTV footage shows Frank standing next to a festival worker in a yellow high-vis jacket at the main tent. The final sighting of Frank was at around 11pm. The same CCTV angle shows Frank leaving the tent, walking past the same yellow high-vis-wearing festival worker.

CornwallLive understands this is the final known sighting of Frank Parsons. He was last seen at midnight at the main tent of the food festival - his last known location - but nothing since.

At 2am a member of the food festival team found a black hoodie on the bench on the harbour opposite the Harbour Inn pub, adjacent to some steps leading into the harbour. However, this was then thrown away thinking it was left by someone. It is understood that police have tried to locate the hoodie but it has already been disposed of at the dump and was therefore impossible to locate.

Frank was seen earlier on in the night walking up the pier - he may have been sitting on this bench opposite the harbour and may have gone on the beach too. Police think he may have walked down the steps opposite the bench near the harbour. Unfortunately there is no CCTV footage around Porthleven to confirm where he went. Police searches, including the use of a helicopter, have so far yielded nothing..

His sister Liz Parsons previously said: “He's around 6ft tall, well built, short brown hair, balding on top, blue eyes, last seen in Porthleven at 7pm wearing blue shorts and a black hoody. He lives in Truro but spending a couple of days in Porthleven for the food festival. All his friends have been contacted but haven't heard from him and his mobile phone is going straight to answer phone."

Missing dad's family have shared his last known movements

The body of a man has been found in the search for 53-year-old James Parsons, who was reported missing from the Porthleven area of Cornwall two weeks ago.

James, from Truro, who also goes by the name Frank, Fran or Francis, was last spotted at the food and music event which he has been regularly attending for years on April 22. His family have been keeping up the hope to find Frank alive and has issued several pleas for help over the last fortnight.

Police have now confirmed that the body of a man has been found in the sea off the Isles of Scilly after being spotted by HM Coastguard.

The family of Truro dad, James ‘Frank’ Parsons, have issued a statement following the tragic news that a body was found during the two-week search to find him. James, also known as Frank, Fran or Francis, was last seen at the Porthleven Food Festival on April 22.

Frank’s wife Vicky, children Emily and Ryan, and sister Liz had issued multiple requests for information since Frank was last seen at Porthleven Food Festival, which he attended each year. As recently as Tuesday (May 3), CCTV footage was being analysed by the police in an attempt to locate him.

However, police confirmed on Friday (May 6) that the body of a man was found in the sea near St Mary’s in the Isles of Scilly by the coastguard. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said the body was found at around noon on Wednesday (May 4) and that the family were informed of the discovery. Formal identification has yet to take place.

Frank's family have since posted their appreciation on social media, saying: "We have been informed by Devon and Cornwall Police that a body has been found on the Isles of Scilly.

"We thank everyone for their support throughout the last two weeks in helping us find Frank especially those who have helped search land sea and air, and all your kind words of support and for sharing our posts on social media.

"We are asking for some privacy at this time as we try to come to terms with this news as a family. Thank you."
