The family of James Parsons, who has been missing since April 22, have shared his last known movements at the food festival where he disappeared. James, also known as Frank, Fran, or Jimmy, vanished without a trace after a night at
Porthleven Food Festival.
Frank went to the popular three-day event with wife Vicky on April 22, as they have done each year. The 53-year-old stayed on when his wife had to be called away unexpectedly at 7pm and hasn’t been seen by them since.
Information released by police and his family - wife of over 25 years Vicky and children Emily, 25, and Ryan, 21 - give an idea of his last movements. Frank’s family hope this might jog someone’s memory from the night.
Vicky last saw Frank at 7pm. At this point, they
were in the area of Harbour Road, Porthleven. Frank, of
Truro, was wearing blue shorts and a black hoodie and is white, around 5ft 10in and of medium build. He has brown-grey wavy hair which is balding at the back, and was clean shaven on the day of the festival.
The next
sighting of Frank was at 9.40 to 9.50pm on the night. The festival’s Instagram page showed that he was still on the site. Video footage of a set by band Company B showed Frank walking past at this point. A screenshot showed Frank in the midst of the band’s crowded audience in the music and bar tent.
Around the same time,
at 9.44pm, CCTV footage shows Frank standing next to a festival worker in a yellow high-vis jacket at the main tent. The final sighting of Frank was at around 11pm. The same CCTV angle shows Frank leaving the tent, walking past the same yellow high-vis-wearing festival worker.
CornwallLive understands this is the final known sighting of Frank Parsons. He was last seen at midnight at the main tent of the food festival - his last known location - but nothing since.
At 2am a member of the food festival team found a black hoodie on the bench on the harbour opposite the Harbour Inn pub, adjacent to some steps leading into the harbour. However, this was then thrown away thinking it was left by someone. It is understood that police have tried to locate the hoodie but it has already been disposed of at the dump and was therefore impossible to locate.
Frank was seen earlier on in the night walking up the pier - he may have been sitting on this bench opposite the harbour and may have gone on the beach too.
Police think he may have walked down the steps opposite the bench near the harbour. Unfortunately there is no CCTV footage around Porthleven to confirm where he went. Police searches,
including the use of a helicopter, have so far yielded nothing..
His sister Liz Parsons previously said: “He's around 6ft tall, well built, short brown hair, balding on top, blue eyes, last seen in Porthleven at 7pm wearing blue shorts and a black hoody. He lives in Truro but spending a couple of days in Porthleven for the food festival. All his friends have been contacted but haven't heard from him and his mobile phone is going straight to answer phone."
