Police in Annan are appealing for help in finding a man who has been reported missing.

James Turner, aged 45, was last seen at around 3pm on Tuesday in Glynt Wynd.

James is described as being 5ft 10ins, of medium build, with dark greying hair and was last seen wearing a dark safari-type jacket, white long sleeve T-shirt, black jogging bottoms and trainers.

Inspector Nicolson from Annan Police station said: "James has been missing for a number of hours now, this is completely out of character for him and his family are understandably worried about him.

"We have a number of police resources out looking for James and I am now looking for the assistance from the public".

* Update on appeal for High Risk Missing Person James Turner. *

James left the address in Annan in a blue Skoda Octavia car, registration mark SV12WCR. He has been known to walk, fish and camp in local areas.

We are appealing to all members of the public to keep an eye out at car parks by rivers, beaches, forests and local beauty spots for a blue Skoda Octavia and to phone 101 with any information that may assist with police enquiries.

Police in Annan are appealing for assistance in tracing James Turner (45yrs) who has been reported missing from Glynt Wynd, Annan.

James was last seen about 1500 hours 28/12/2021 in Glynt Wynd. His current whereabouts is unknown and his family are becoming increasingly concerned for him.

James is described as being 5ft 10 inches tall, medium build, dark greying hair, and was last seen wearing a dark safari type jacket, white long sleeve t-shirt, black jogging bottoms and trainers.

Police are appealing for information in the search for a man reported missing from his home in Dumfries and Galloway.

James Turner, 45, left his property in Glynt Wynde, Annan, in a blue Skoda Octavia at around 3pm on Tuesday, December 28.

The car’s registration is SV12 WCR.

Mr Turner’s whereabouts are unknown and his family are becoming increasingly concerned for him.

He is known to walk, fish and camp locally, and also has connections in the Aboyne area, Aberdeenshire.

RIP James
The body of a man was found on land near Langholm around 11.35am on Thursday, 30 December.

He is still to be formally identified, however, the family of James Turner, 48, who was reported missing from his home in Annan on Tuesday, 28 December, has been informed.

There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

Ah rest in peace james. There was a lot of helicopter activity overhead yesterday morning, wonder if it was related.

Oh, James. The poor man must have been tormented. I feel terribly sad for his family and friends.

He was a science teacher, and seemingly a highly thought of one.
