Northumbria Police are appealing for help to find a missing Gateshead man.

Jamie Grant, 27, was last seen at his home on Front Street, Whickham, at around 5pm on February 8.

He has not been seen since and we are now growing increasingly concerned for Jamie’s welfare and asking the public for help.

He is described as a white male, around 5’8 with long, white messy hair and a beard and was last known to be wearing a full green tracksuit and black shoes.

Comments on social media say that Jamie is actually 5'4" in height (not 5'8") and that he is suffering from poor mental health at the moment.

#MISSING We've issued a new photo to help us locate Gateshead man Jamie Grant.

The 27-year-old was last seen at his home on Front Street, Whickham, at around 7.20pm on February 8.

We're growing increasingly concerned for Jamie’s welfare and enquiries to locate him have been ongoing since his family reported him as missing.

Those enquiries included issuing an appeal for information earlier this week but today we've issued a new photograph in the hopes of encouraging anyone who is yet to come forward, to get in touch.

Jamie is described as a white male, around 5’4 with long, white hair and a beard and was last known to be wearing a full green tracksuit and black shoes.

He's been missing for more than a week and this is out of character - so we're asking anyone who thinks they might have seen him, or someone matching his description to get in touch.

Remember, any detail no matter how small, could be the piece of information we're searching for.

Jamie, or anyone with information about his whereabouts, is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log 36 100222.

Update on Jamie. Still no news at all.
Someone must have seen him or know his where abouts. It's scarey thinking it's nearly 2 weeks he's been missing it's like he's vanished into thin air
Police are still doing inquiries into his disappearance but they too aren't getting anywhere with any leads they are receiving.
It's heart breaking this.

#Missing We've issued another urgent appeal for information as our searches for Jamie Grant continue.

He was last seen at an address on Front Street, Whickham, at around 7.20pm on February 8.

The 27-year-old was reported as missing when he failed to return home and searches have been ongoing ever since.

Two photographs of Jamie have already been issued in the hopes of encouraging anyone who thinks they may have seen him to get in touch, but unfortunately, he is yet to make contact.

We are growing increasingly concerned for Jamie’s welfare and have today issued another appeal as we continue to search.

This behaviour is out of character for Jamie and we're growing increasingly concerned.

We've reissued the image of Jamie in the hope of jogging someone’s memory.

Andrea Roxby Grant has asked me to give everyone an update that can be shared.
Jamie is still missing
Today he is showing online on Facebook but it's not jamie unfortunately . Its the police, they are going through messages etc to see if they can find a lead to his disappearance.
The police have showed Andrea and her family quite a few clips off different people's cctv again unfortunately none of them are jamie
Lots of people are saying they've seen him in so many places but it's all turning out to be nothing . May be if yous think it's jamie try and take a quick photo of him and send it to the police or to Andrea. It would be much appreciated.

Sad news to share with you all about missing man Jamie Grant.

Jamie, 27, was last seen at his home in Whickham on February 8.

An extensive search was launched and a number of enquiries were carried out to locate Jamie but sadly a body was found yesterday, along the River Derwent.

Formal identification has taken place and his family are currently being supported by specialist officers at this devastating time.

We do not believe there to be any third party involvement in the death and a report will now be made for the coroner.

This is an incredibly sad update and one we certainly did not hope to deliver.

We want to thank those who shared our appeal to help find Jamie and our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones - please respect their privacy.
