Thanks for that. I agree I doubt it will matter but it was just one of those questions which was bugging me. Have we heard anything of the brothers parents? I can't remember hearing anything about them

Only, AFAIR, that BB claims his father was violent towards him and that he was taken into care aged 11.

Moot point as as far as I am concerned they should both be locked up and the key thrown away, but would be interesting to know both boys background. Was Jake put into care? His FB profile didn't seem to imply so. Have either of them been in trouble with the police before? I seem to recall finding a court summary in a local paper for someone of the same name as BB for aggravated assault and failure to comply with terms of suspended sentence.

As I say, a moot point but my interest in psychology always leads me to question what has led up to this point. I don't believe that people are born evil, I believe that circumstances contribute to how a person ultimately acts

Well, that's a pretty lame argument if ever I heard one.

Judge Eccles told the jury the support worker, Courtney Bateman, said when she arrived at the hostel the 17-year-old remained in her room and refused to use the toilet or shower, allegedly because her boyfriend told her not to.
But after Ms Bateman returned from a week off she claimed Jayden had ended the relationship and undergone a "transformation" - becoming "a normal giggling teenage girl" who mixed with the other residents.

The evidence of Rebecca Stacey, an elderly neighbour who lived next door to Ben Blakeley's cousin Faith Kennedy in Reading, was also repeated by Judge Eccles. He said she described the 22-year-old defendant as a "bully" and caused "an eruption from the public gallery" by making an offensive gesture at him as she left the court after giving her evidence.

Her evidence was repeated this morning by Judge Patrick Eccles during his summing up of the case, as the 22-year-old's trial for murder draws to an end.'

Interestingly, as I hadn't seen that before, an elderly woman neighbour of Blakeley's cousin gave evidence that he was 'a bully', and caused uproarin the court by making an obscene gesture at him as she left the stand! The judge mentioned it in his summing up.

It's also said that Jake has 'the reading ability of a 6 yr old'. But if that's meant to imply he is intellectually impaired, I'm not sure it's true. People can be totally illiterate but highly intelligent.

I doubt they'd waste much time take long over BB, but the matter of Jake may be a little more complicated.

Or too scared of his brother to defy him? Could be a bit of all three.

Mmm I agree Cherwell. Im undecided about JB. There's no doubt about it that he helped with the burials but I really can't tell whether he knew and was a willing participant. I think this is due in part to the naming ban only recently being lifted. Prior to him being named the press didn't really focus much on him so we really only have the info reported over the last couple of days

The story I saw said that Jake's solicitor passed the note to [either the police or the judge] at the hearing in question.
