What does this post mean please? I follow the links and they don't go anywhere. There's no date.

It is a copy/paste of the trial information (on lawpages) only current on the date of posting, unless you use the court calendar to go back to that date.

What it shows is that on Friday the judge started summing up at 11.36am, then the prosecution started their closing speech at 12.05pm, and then continued their closing speech after lunch at 2.20pm.

I expect they will finish their closing speech on Monday and then the defence will make their closing speech, before the judge concludes her summing up. Maybe the jury will go out to deliberate on Tuesday, or late on Monday.

Brilliant, thanks very much for explaining!

A pretty rapid guilty verdict.

The BBC make a point of noting the 9 months’ age gap again. Woman guilty of murdering sister in Camden home

This whole case is so strange.

Is there some additional detail here we aren’t getting or is it just an unusual example of a mother becoming pregnant pretty much right after having given birth?

I am one year and one week older than my sister but there is quite a difference in getting pregnant three months after giving birth versus what must be almost immediately.

At face value, I continue to doubt that victim & killer were 100% biological blood sisters. They may share a father, they may be aunt and niece raised as sisters, one may be adopted etc, they are also of an age where this sort of thing would still be mostly covered up by the rest of the family.

And that isn’t even where the odd details of this one end is it!

Without going into heavy detail which is probably not allowed, I will say this has been a very difficult case to research in terms of background info on the victim and the killer.
The birth dates are almost 9 months to the day and whilst it is not impossible ( I have a friend who has two children born in this time frame ) I agree it is rather unusual and the possibility of two different mothers would be more plausible.
It might also have some bearing on why there seems to have been hostility between the sisters throughout their life - if JA had a better childhood/advantages than NP, due to the her mother's family.

the above is all just MOO

Pexton, of no fixed address, denied wrongdoing and declined to give evidence in her trial, opting to appear in court by video-link from Bronzefield Prison.

Following the guilty verdict, Judge Anuja Dhir KC adjourned sentencing to Friday.
