AMENDMENT

VT didn't say he took his camera outside, my mistake. He said...

#VincentTabak told police he was keen on photography and told police he had gone for a walk to look at the snow.

I get the impression that Jo's kitchen window, the timing and VT saying he took his camera outside to photograph the snow is very important. Did Jo catch him taking photographs of her through the window ?

They just said on ITN News that the defence team have asked the jurors to pay particular attention to the kitchen window 'which is where Joanna and Vincent first saw each other that night'....

so that indicates Vincent was approaching/in the area of the front door.

Could be something like that - the defence seem to be the ones pushing the importance of the kitchen window:

@skynewsgatherer Defence says it is through the kitchen window that #JoannaYeates and #VincentTabak first saw each other on the night of the killing.

I wonder if he'll claim that he thought the neighbours were away so when he heard movement and/or saw light, he went to investigate...

Thanks, bees.

I dredged this photo up from a previous thread.

So according to your floor plan, the kitchen window is to the left of the front door.

those two white cabinets on the right look like gas/electric cupboards? but I wouldn't imagine one of them would be feeding his flat? (more likely the upper flats) was just wondering if they were 'key' metres - could he have been going to feed it?

I've been reading all the comments and agree that we won't know much until VT starts his defence. My husband is under the impression that VT didn't commit the murder and is in fact covering for someone else....I disagree but he is convinced he is covering and did not act alone! :waitasec:

I am sure he did it but always thought he maybe did not act alone.. Do we know for a fact that JY body was actually dumped the day of her murder . Were her wrists tied with something that left marks or would just restraining her by holding her wrists then show up later. So many details we will never know or be told, as new information comming out shows just how little we did know.

Maybe, or he said he was. I'm going with the camera idea, Jo caught him and instead of manning up to it, he attacked her.

Does he pass her kitchen window to get to his front door ?

I have posted on another site that IMO his spectacles didn't contain any DNA from Jo because he was using a camera and removed them in his own flat before going outside.

Then what the hell was he doing round there anyway. The defence telling the Jury pay particular attention to the kitchen window where they first saw each other and I suppose from there the true story will unfold.

The story as told from the mouth of a liar and a killer, someone who would readily give false witness, see an innocent man go down for his crime. He should stick his ******** story where the sun don't shine. IMO he abused and murdered this vulnerable young lady, pure and simple!!!

Dunno, I wonder that too.

I'm still holding out hope we will learn what VT's motive was.

With a guilty plea does the prosecution even have to come up with a motive; I should think they'll hint at one though, especially after this comment:

He held her neck long enough to "squeeze the life out of her… he was in "complete control" when he strangled JY with his hands and that there was no doubt of his intent.”

I can only think of 3 reasons for this attack on Jo.

1. A sexually motivated assault
2. VT being caught in a compromising situation. Either way Jo had to be shut up, for him to save face. Self preservation.
3. VT just wanted to kill a woman to satisfy some urge or other, or because he was bored.

In the articles I've been reading on the subject, the top motives for murder are these or a derivation of:
fear, jealousy, love, money, revenge, sex.

What set VT off when he saw JY through the kitchen window, or was he lurking outside with bad intentions even before she saw him?

No it is blocked off at the end.

Actually no, it's not. What we can see in that photo is one of the sheds, but this is further back. It is possible to walk right around the building, so he could easily gain access to his own door by passing Jo's door and turning left at the corner - or vice versa of course. This has been confirmed by locals.

True, depth of field in the photo makes the shed appear closer.

I'm still struggling with any scenario whereby he would have good reason for being at the side of the building. I'm pretty sure JY would have recognised him so I can't imagine her lashing out thinking he was a burglar. Even if that was the case, you wouldn't retaliate by strangling someone.

The defence are suggesting manslaughter, so what could JY of done to set him off? - Assuming she did, of course.

This is true, however VT could access his front door by going the other way. I wouldn't walk infront of anybodys window, I think it rude.

Could be he was in her kitchen as Jo was approachimg the area of the front door. The security light came on and they saw each other through the kitchen window, she screamed and he rushed to door and dragged her in. He said he had been in that flat before, maybe held a key at one time to let workmen in , or for some reason and got another cut.

Would tie in with what the Laymans saw.

Good point, Jo may have fallen down the stairs after being pulled inside, accounting for the dull thump.
