I'm not at all convinced that the NUA has anything to do with the murder.

And, somewhat oddly, I have refused to give up my reason for suspecting GR. My concerns remain.

And this case has been a real learning experience for me in UK criminal justice and how our two systems differ. I'm not in a position to judge and absolutely mean no offense but I have noted a couple of things:

I've noticed that in US high profile cases, LE gives periodic press conferences. Often, but not always they will reveal current findings and the press can often ask questions. We've seen few pressers in this case and LE remains tight lipped.

Additionally, "un-named sources" and the tabloids will purposely "leak" details which get bandied about eventually get asked about at the press conferences. It appears that the UK has a very low level of unscripted leaks which is commendable. But it adds to our dilemma of amateur sleuthing without clues and facts, no?

I think about CJ and his case against LE in a "wrongful arrest" [we still do not know if he is guilty or innocent]. And we now have possibly another ...

.

I very much doubt he has a case of "wrongful arrest", look at the possibilities for his arrest, they could have been for example, discrepancy in his alibi or he may refused a requested routine dna test or he later denied a statement of allegedly seeing 3 people that night to the press etc,non of these are grounds for a wrongful arrest suit.

:tyou: patticake

I'm 100% with you. I still find myself going back to GR.

I dont want to talk too soon, but if they release NUA, I think the police are really going to have to be answerable. There needs to be a complete review of the case.

It would be highly embarrassing for the LE if what prompted CJ's arrest was 'tales' from other/others at the same address who later came under suspicion themselves. I wonder who was busy telling the press all the stuff about CJ's creepiness and entering apartments without giving notice, etc.

Maybe I am in the minority here but I have never thought it was Joannas bf, nor did I ever think it was the landlord. The bf crossed my mind at first but the police have never given any indication that they suspect him, of course that means nothing but I do not believe it's him.

Why do some of you believe it could be him?

We'll certainly find out.

And I don't think he ever denied seeing three people to the press. IIRC, he denied stating for a fact that Joanne was one of the three.

That's why he said his statement to the press was substantially different. He saw three people. Period.

The press allegedly added that Joanne was one of them.

in my case the 'crying' seen early on - not much adds up but I can't help what my intuition tells me. jmo

...and the 4 hours

If the headlines are true 'weeping girl tips off Jo Cops' and 'Cops speak to girlfriend before arrest', can we put two together and make three ?

No one ever wants to believe someone they know or love is capable of such things. Maybe she doesn't know for sure, but the appeal from TY had an impact, and she began to think maybe it is him. Maybe she did not finger him but the crying and saying it couldn't be him would be all LE needs to know to conclude perhaps she just can't admit it to herself. Of course none of that really means anything in itself, he either did it or didn't, but it certainly would be enough for LE to change their previous opinion that he wasn't a suspect and move forward and arrest him.

Now there is a thought.

Could a mod please tell me why an earlier post of mine was deleted?

Fighting back tears one Dutch pal said: “I know Vincent is innocent. The Pink Panther is a pussycat who couldn’t hurt a mouse. There is no way he could have done something as dreadful as this.”

I did wonder if that might have anything to do with cannabis being legal in Holland...

no offence to any dutch forumites :blushing:

No offence taken I think......

Perhaps I've led a sheltered life in the Netherlands, but here in the UK I've met more people taking it than over there LOL

Merely responding to your comments in bold.

Both comments are equally relevant.

It would be nice if you could politely elaborate on why you think the post doesn't have relevance.

The Babel Fish English-Dutch translation came up as....

"Ik weet Vincent onschuldig is. De roze Panter is een pussycat die geen muis kon kwetsen. Er is geen manier hij zo vreselijk iets kon gedaan hebben zoals dit."

Hahaha, sounds like pigeon Dutch!

Should read more like:

Ik weet dat Vincent onschuldig is. De roze panter zou geen muis kwaad kunnen doen. Het is niet mogelijk dat hij zo iets verschrikkelijks gedaan heeft.

Not relevant as it simply does not matter what he says to the press,it only matters what he says when questioned by police.

...but in the context of what's discussed on this forum then it does have relevance. If we only discussed what we know was told to the LE then we'd all be silent as we know naff all. jmo

May I ask what NUA stands for, I went back pages but have not come across it as yet...thank you. (I did see a Dutch man was taken into custody but those do not seem to be his initials.)

Thanks for explaining. :)
