Thre is a heartbreaking update for Jo.
The body of what is believed to be missing woman Josephine Morales, also known as Jo, has been found in the River Derwent close to Raynesway.

Officers had been in the area since yesterday evening searching for Josephine, who was reported missing to the force on the morning of Saturday April 22.

Her family have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers. The family request that their privacy is respected at this time.

In line with mandatory procedures the force will be referring the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to prior police contact with Josephine. This was in relation to an earlier collision on Raynesway just after 12.30am on Saturday 22 April in which it is believed Josephine was involved.

Police in Derbyshire have referred themselves to the force watchdog after a mother-of-five was found dead in a river just hours after going missing in a crash, around which time they spoke to her.

Hairdresser Josephine Morales, 33, was reported missing by her family on Saturday morning.

Police put out an appeal for her whereabouts immediately and said she had last been seen at 7pm on Friday night.

But today - as Derbyshire Police announced it had found her body - the force disclosed she had been spoken to by its own officers just after midnight on Saturday morning.

And it said their contact with her came after she was involved in a car crash that night.

It is unclear when officers became aware that the time they had given on their appeal was incorrect by some six hours.

how very sad, 5 kids without mom. sounds tragic but there might be more there - as if it could be any more tragic or sad. May those who knew and loved Jo find peace in time, however long it takes and whatever that looks like for them.

I'm in the US but find the whole 'referring themselves to the police watchdog' thing fascinating - same in Nicola Bulley's case I think.
