Ok, I think I get the jist of the cctv anyway I just wanted to see for myself! Poor girl, seems she knew him in some capacity, there is more to this than meets the eye but probs a lot to do with Karen's caring nature than anything else! I know people from all professions take drugs but I'd be highly surprised to hear of a nurse studying for a masters degree in ocupational therapy to be taking drugs, again I know it's not impossible, I just can't see it!

She's definitely walking off willingly - he's not touching her, she's not stumbling or anything. They don't appear to be talking (or at least not looking at each other). Is that the clubs CCTV? JUst wondering how far away they were.

Yes it is the CCTV of the Sanctuary Club. The RTE video states that they are only showing some of the video.

I wondered the same or if he was holding Karen's hand but if you watch the next part of the video after the gap it doesn't appear to be the case. They are walking very close if they were two strangers who had just met but that's just my opinion.

Jmo, we will probably never know why she went with him...no one who can be believed can tell us. But we know she did not go in order to be hurt/killed...

Are defenses as (too often) horrible as in the U.S. i.e putting the defendant on trial? Making a point to show she went with him willingly, etc...present victim in a bad light? They seem to get away with it here all too often. Jmo

I think it's just slightly behind him he doesn't appear to be leading her to keep walking but that's just my opinion.

I'd like to know more about this guy's history with women in the past, if he was stalking Karen online in anyway, if he watched rape or violent p*rn. I wonder if he knew Karen was going to be at the club that night.

I agree usually crossed arms are a defensive sign, but at 1am it will have been pretty cold, especially having just come out of a nightclub. I reckon I'd have my arms crossed to keep warm. I just can't see that she's trying to get away from him.

True they didn't seem to be talking it reminds me of a situation I had years ago, a group of us were out in London when a female friend of ours went missing for half an hour. She was talking to a guy and she left the club to go up the street with him to get his cigarettes in his car, the guy told her he hated walking in and out of the club on his own. I went outside to look for her and she was on her way back with him walking close to him with her arms folded so similar to the image in the CCTV.

It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that a similar situation happened with Karen and as she arrived at the car she was forced into it. I've a hunch he was playing her because she was caring he gave her the sop story let on he was lonely whatever and he just wanted to befriend her and have someone to talk to. We may never know unfortunately.
