• Police Friday night reissued the appeal for information about their whereabouts

These two have been named now as Kelly and Knox Jefferies, aged 42 and 10. Their disappearance is linked to an emergency care order for Knox, as a consequence of longstanding concerns about Knox's welfare and his limited opportunities to date for education and social contact, and concerns about his mother's mental health. His father is described as having only a 'limited relationship' with him'.

A friend, Kelly Pope, has now admitted to the family court that she helped them abscond from the court's jurisdiction by taking them to the bus station and using Kelly Jefferies' bank card locally after their departure. They are believed possibly to have headed toward the Oldham area, but a nationwide search is under way.

Kelly Jefferies, 42, and her son Knox have not been seen since July 28.

The pair left their home in Patchway, South Gloucestershire, and police believe they travelled north to an area near Manchester.

Officers are concerned for their welfare and have renewed an appeal to find the pair.

Avon and Somerset Police said Ms Jefferies and her son could be anywhere in the country by now - or even living abroad.

Detective Chief Inspector Kristina Windsor said: “Kelly and Knox’s welfare is our primary concern and we’re working extremely hard to locate them to check they are both ok.

“We understand Kelly may not want to be found but we can’t in good conscience stop looking for her and Knox when we’re worried about them.

“We’ve previously issued a photo of Kelly which shows her with her natural brown hair colour but we believe she may have recently changed her appearance.

“She’s previously dyed her hair blonde and so we’re releasing another picture of her today which was taken some years ago to show what she may look like now if she’s coloured her hair again.

“As Kelly and Knox could be anywhere, we’re asking for the public’s help in sharing our appeal on social media as we know this increases the likelihood of them being found."

Sounds kind of like Knox was taken off her. She's been posting this week that he was kidnapped by police and stuff...
But her posts are very mentally unstable by the looks of it...

So both seem to have been located since last July.

I wonder if this thread should still be live, as obviously there is a lot going on, with police etc.

I know, right! She seems to be posting so much wild stuff. Also saying police stole money out of her purse and other random things. Not even sure what to think of this one!

There's a lot of American lingo and conspiracy threads on her page - not terribly uncommon for politically extreme and/or unstable Brits unfortunately.

Mum seems to be dangerously unwell. I know earlier articles referenced mental health concerns and keeping her son from accessing an education - this definitely checks out with the paranoia and violent viewpoints I've just read on that feed. She thinks everyone in authority is a paedophile Nazi, references the New World Order, states she stands with Putin, and is a Trump supporter despite living in the UK.

Not only that but she's posted her court order paperwork. The date that Knox was supposed to be taken into care lines up with the date she went missing with him.
