GUILTY UK - Laurent Bonomo & Gabriel Ferez, both 23, murdered, Lewisham, 29 June 2008

I have checked.

These horrific murders took place on Sunday 29 June 2008.

The next New Moon was Thursday 3 July 2008.

There must surely have been a degree of planning about this, for whatever reason.

Otherwise, they must have been out of their heads on crack cocaine

I don't know enough about crack behavior to speak knowledgeably, so I have to ask if you think that six people on crack would break in the week before and then come back and murder the next. It seems so.......planned, as you say. I think that if it were entirely fueled by crack it would have been less people and more spur of the moment, but I don't know. Maybe some of them were accessories, not actual murderers. Six people tromping around would attract a lot of attention. Maybe it was a club............

All 6 are as guilty as each other if they were there and let what happened to these young men happen. About going back a week later....well my crime prevention Officer told me that you are very likely to be burgled a second time by the same burglars within weeks of the first burglary as they know the layout of the house and will go back for what they missed the first time. Apparently its quite common.

What they did to these two guys was just beyond brutal:mad:

In my opinion, knowing a little (only a little) about substance misuse - Crack users get a very short hit from the drug, and need longer and longer hits to try to achieve what they first experienced - This involves them being perfectly self absorbed - nothing matters but their next hit - not even their families, from whom they often start by stealing - and a crack habit must involve them in serial crime and robbing, as no-one in work or on normal state benefits, could afford to sustain a crack habit...it is too costly and requires an almost permanent high, it is seriously addictive - It is one of the deadliest of drugs, having a seriously detrimental effect on the body and face, not to mention, teeth, of the user - Frightening, to say the least...

Crack could well have been a factor in the loss of these two wonderful men's lives - Such a waste and such a shock for us here in the UK...

RIP chers amis...

I have no update on the two poor French students, but a case very much in the news this week in the U.K. is the case of two young students brutally murdered at a flat in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Which is about 300 miles from London.

It has now emerged that these two Chinese students were tortured and/or brutally stabbed many times before being killed, so I put the following news item up here as a comparison double murder which may be of wider interest.

So far as I am aware there is no connection whatsoever between these two student double torture-and-murders, beyond the eerie parallels outlined above:

From June 2009:

http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2009/jun/04/french-students-murder-bonomo-ferez1

Two men were sentenced to life today after being found guilty of the savage murder of two French students who were tied up in their London flat, tortured and stabbed 244 times.

Prosecutors described as "an orgy of bloodletting" the attacks in June last year by Dano Sonnex, 23, from Peckham, and Nigel Farmer, 34, of no fixed address...

Sonnex will serve a minimum of 40 years and Farmer a minimum of 35 years.
