Am fairly sure if the police knew Leah was ok but had no plans to return home, then they would say something. It might be a low key announcement, to protect Leah and family, but at the very least the public would be advised that there was no further concern for Leah and the investigation had been closed.
I agree. When they have located s missing person LE usually announce it on their website/SM.

I think it's too late for posters. Do people really think Leah is hiding in MK? She has an extended family, even if she had an almighty fall out with her immediate family (not suggesting she did), would she really leave them all brokenhearted? She could call an aunt or someone. Maybe the idea of the posters is to play on someone's conscience :(

I must admit after the horrific case of the two women found this week in the 'Ali' case (1 who we now know had been missing a whole year, assumed a runaway), I am more concerned for Leah than ever before. I have for some time reasoned that Leah had run away and was hiding out of the area, as she does have extended friends and family further afield, I presumed it probable that the mass publicity (at least in MK) may prove too daunting/ embarrassing for her to feel comfortable to make contact just yet (maybe I am merely still clinging to hope for now). Non the less, I am concerned for her safety now more than ever.

I agree.

IMO there is absolutely no way that she is alive and well and in hiding.

I don't think she has been alive from the day she went missing.

And I don't think sticking posters up is gonna prick anyone's conscience either.

I have my suspicions about what has happened to her,I'm sure we all do but sadly I very much doubt there is any hope she is safe and well.

What do you personally think has happened to Leah? @Joolz1975

I think she was killed the day she went missing by someone she either knew or was at least aware of.
Thanks for your reply Joolz, from what I have read most members following from the beginning think the same, it's a very logical presumption under the circumstances. All I know for certain is that we all hope this is not the case.

I just hope they find her and if it is murder they find the right person.

It's starting to feel a bit Claudia Lawrence.

Feels like there's a cover up to me none of it adds up.

Absolutely frightening how many cases of people simply vanishing. I'm sure I'm not the only member who double checks their surroundings now more than ever.. 'Thanks to WS'. Gone is the saying of ignorance is bliss IMO...I would rather have informed insight into the dangers around us.

I totally agree. None of it adds up and there is some sort of cover up.
There is no way that Leah is well and happy living with some distant relative.
she was killed the day she went missing by someone known to her.

Yes, way too late for posters. From the little I know of Leah...ie from reading on line....I believe she would have made contact, even if via a helpline...

I agree completely with Joolz and Skigh... I think Leah was very likely already deceased long before any call was made re her absence from work.

I still think the newspaper poster is a genius idea. I have never seen it done before, but what a great way of getting the ‘missing’ message out across the town/city. In our town a big proportion of households get the local paper.

It is also a way of the local community acknowledging the distressing absence of Leah. One of the things that has bugged me lately about it not being national news is this also potentially means a smaller pool of support for the family (on the plus side, one would hope fewer trolls). Quite often in these serious, bewildering situations the kindness of strangers has pulled people through circumstances that no one has ever asked to be in.

In any case, what is the alternative to posters? To do nothing at all?

Too little too late if you ask me.

And likely the only people who know anything about her dissapearence are not likely to come forward with any information because they are probably involved.

I agree with the theory Leah is no longer alive. I also agree it’s most likely someone that she knew. Random stranger blitz attacks are incredibly rare.
I also think whoever it was she went with willingly in the first instance and had no need to be concerned. I think she’s not been found because she’s not in the area she disappeared in. Only one place outside of her normal route and her home estate was searched other than than the lakes. There are lots of greenery places all over MK and most of it not searched. Although it’s highly likely her phone is in the bottom of furzton lake. I think she’s somewhere not often frequented and will be found by a random stranger at some point.

I went for a walk yesterday round Bletchley and Emerson Valley. While on my walk I must have seen about 15 posters. On trees, lamp posts, shop windows, rubbish bins. Its on bridges above roads. You can’t miss it round MK, the newspaper is free and through as many doors as it circulates to. I don’t read mine it either goes straight into the recycling bin or into my rabbits cage as it’s free lots of people will do the exact same thing . So agree probably not going to be that effective.

Have her friends and coworkers ever spoken about her demeanor leading up to her disappearance?
I remember the family speaking about holiday plans, and that she was reliable and had a good work ethic, was there anything more?

I think the idea of the cut out poster from the paper is essentially a good idea.

BUT I agree that it’s a little late in the case now. The family seem to have already carried out an intensive poster campaign which is confirmed by how many you seen on your walk. At this stage it’s unlikely that Leah is going to be spotted in the area.

I’m unsure what the alternative is but posters don’t seem to have produced results so I do think there needs to be an alternative approach.

Jmo it is impossible that if police thought they knew who had Leah, that they would hang around hoping he would “make a mistake.” We would have seen SWAT team or the UK equivalent. When missing people are thought to be alive, or not known to be deceased, police will not wait, much less months.

I can’t imagine what their theory is, though. If they knew she was okay and wanted to stay hidden, they would issue a brief statement and close the case. As it is, they are subject to scrutiny, complaints, raised eyebrows, etc...the family should proceed however they wish at this point. Maybe even hire a private investigator...I bet they would be able to raise funds to help.

All jmo

IMO the alternative is to search. As Loz says the possibilities are vast in mk but you can search methodically due to the layout. Or ofc people closer to the case could be more forthcoming so the police can issue more meaningful info

I think a private investigator is a great idea. It looks like there is absolutely incredible support from the people of MK, I have no doubt funds could easily be raised. JMO
