Bit of an incomplete police appeal.

Lena Nwana, 25, presumably from London, was last seen boarding a train to Walton on Thames (doesn't say where from but must be either Waterloo or Clapham) on January 24 2022.

It does not say if she was seen on Walton station's CCTV or not - but she has been caught on camera at Selfridges and at Marble Arch station (again, appeal doesn't say if same day or since Monday).

She is described as vulnerable.

Police are searching for a woman who has gone missing after boarding a train to Walton-On-Thames.

Lena Nwana has not been seen since Monday January 24, when she was also seen on CCTV in Selfridges, Oxford Street and Marble Arch tube station.

The 25-year-old is described as being black, about five foot nine inches tall, of slim build and with dark hair.

She was last seen wearing a white fleece with black leggings.

Appears from a quick Google that she’s a Uni of Bristol student.

It seems she has been moving around London - the Selfridges and Marble Arch sightings were post-last official sighting on train - and using the tube and her bank cards, but still no contact with friends or family.

Don't know what to make of this really.

Clearly they are tracking her Oyster Card (or similar) and bank card use, but is there CCTV available to show that it is her using them on these occasions - apart from the Selfridges and Marble Arch sightings? And is she alone or accompanied? Presumably this is something the Transport Police/TFL and shops, banks etc. will check. Concerned she could be acting under some sort of duress from another person, or if she is alone experiencing some sort of health or emotional crisis. I do hope she is OK and gets in touch soon!

Odd one indeed. On the surface she seems like an adult with all the rights that entails. I’m not quite sure why there’s a MP alert for her, unless there’s something significant not in the public eye. Perhaps she just wants to be left alone.

Yes, you do wonder what else there is going on.

Is this shopping and travelling behaviour usual for her or not? What was she buying? Where is she going on these repeated tube trips? And where is she staying? Has she had a fall out with family and is intentionally avoiding them?

In that CCTV train pic, does she look a bit uneasy?

As @Teignmouth 22 says, could she have got in with a wrong crowd and being coerced into buying items to give to others?

But as @ApparentlyInDenial points out, she is an adult, so up to her what she does and has the freedom to do as she pleases without having to give reasons. Though it would help if she notified someone just to say I'm okay, now just leave me be.

Though to just add to that, she has been described as 'vulnerable', so there are potentially other issues that may make her perhaps more susceptible to being easily led or taken advantage of by others, or there are mental health concerns, so this is no doubt why there is an urgency to locate her.

Not liking this at all. If she were with a responsible person - and Lena had gone missing of her own volition - would that person not encourage her to make contact with her family or the police to assure them she is OK? Even if there has been a falling out or some sort of ruction within the family unit? So the police could stop looking for her and divert their resources elsewhere? Continuing to feel concerned for this vulnerable young lady. Something definitely doesn't seem right to me. MOO

Reading over this again on a break between packing boxes (moving home shortly!) I've noticed a discrepancy between the two Elmbridge Beat posts linked above.

The initial one - posted 9.44pm on Friday mentions that Lena was last seen boarding a train to Walton on Thames:

However the second post - dated yesterday at 12.02pm - says she was last seen boarding a train at Walton:

I've made screenshots of both posts in case it's amended (!) but logically, it's likely the second one is correct, making the reasonable assumption that Lena lives in the Elmbridge/Walton area as they have made the appeal, and as @MsMiniSleuth pointed out at the start of the thread the initial post did not say where she was boarding the train to Walton from. This would also tie in with the sightings at Selfridges and Marble Arch after being seen on CCTV boarding a train.

It would be good if there was clarification on this point, if only to clear up exactly which direction Lena was intending to travel when she was last seen.

Police and friends are urgently appealing for help to find a missing woman last seen a week ago getting a train out of London.

Lena Nwana, 25, was seen on CCTV boarding a train last Monday to Walton-on-Thames, and was reported missing that same day.

She was also seen on CCTV in Selfridges, Oxford Street, and buying a ticket at Marble Arch tube station.

Police say she is vulnerable and her friends and family are concerned for her welfare.

Friends have shared Ms Nwana’s image on social media to encourage people to share any information they might have about her whereabouts.

One said: “Would appreciate if everyone could please keep a look out for my friend Lena who’s been missing since the 24th”.

Another added: “Lena has been missing since the 24th. Would greatly appreciate it if you could share it widely”.

It does say on her FB she lives in London. I am not sure whether WOT would ve classified now as Greater London? Still Surrey to me!

Lena, 25, boarded a train to Walton-on-Thames a week ago (Monday, 24 January) but has since been seen on CCTV at Marble Arch tube station and in Oxford Street. This image was taken at Marble Arch tube station and shows Lena (right) walking next to the woman (left) we would like to speak to.

Lena is described as Black, 5ft 9 tall, of a slim build, with dark hair and was wearing a white fleece and black leggings. She is described as vulnerable and her friends and family are concerned for her welfare.

Search me! And to muddy the waters further...

...another article from Surrey Live, this has a CCTV image of Lena on a train, and states she boarded the train at WoT (their previous article above said to WoT)

Apart from knowing for sure which direction she was travelling, it would also be good to know where this image was captured. Lena is standing up; is this because she is about to get off the train? Where? And when? Her arms are folded - is this (consciously or not) a defensive barrier between herself and someone/something? It might be the CCTV but she looks rather pensive to me.
