His FB profile is open....people are not being very nice there which is unsurprising. I do think that threats towards his family are a bit off though. They didn't commit this crime and are guilty of nothing more than being related.

I know one sister is being questioned about covering up for him.

His FB page is now closed off, suspect a family member has asked him for a password and locked it down. Sensible decision.

I would like to know the motive for this senseless killing. Did she rebuff his advances? What else could it be?

Difficult to say given their ages but I would say that's a likely scenario sadly. Poor girl.

I believe that the male has only just turned 18. Do we know when Leonnes birthday is?

First court appearance was this morning.

Shea Peter Heeley, 18, of Doe Quarry Lane, Dinnington, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 17 February.

[...]

He was told by the clerk of the court that "between 14 and 17 January this year, it is alleged, at Dinnington, you murdered Leonne Weeks".

Dozens of members of Leonne's family were present in the court room and appeared emotional as they watched the proceedings.

Mr Heeley's family sat separately, and sobbed as he was remanded into custody.

There was no application for bail.

Hard for his family too. Tragic all round.

Yes I felt a pang for them when I read they were sobbing in court. You can't compare their suffering to that of Leonne's family but it must be awful all the same.

It would be my worst nightmare as a parent that my child killed someone else or was killed.

From the link:

A 19-year-old man who said he “liked killing” has been jailed for at least 24-and-a-half years for the murder of 16-year-old Leonne Weeks.

Shea Peter Heeley lured Leonne to a secluded spot in Dinnington, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, in January last year and stabbed her 28 times “for no reason at all”, a judge was told.

Sheffield crown court heard that he said after his arrest he had always known he would kill someone, and he later told staff in a secure mental hospital: “I like that I have done it, I just do. I like killing.”

The defence told the court Heeley had told staff at Rampton secure hospital that he had killed Weeks, saying: “I’ll go to prison or hospital, but probably prison. If that’s what it takes to stop me killing people, that’s where I need to go.”

Wow. Poor Leonne.
