Crime Scene Investigation is a new one as well, from what I recall we've not seen them take part in the searches up until now.
CSI were there yesterday I think, if you scroll down the Hull Live page you will see it. They were just taking photos then though, no markers or anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the first time they've remained at the playing fields after dark?

They haven't remained there. They haven't been there (Oak Rd PF) since at least this morning but suddenly a CSI crew turned up and seemingly went straight to the bench?

I can only surmise the suspect finally broke and gave them some specific info?

Where is the bench info coming from?

Hull Live are reporting on it - a bench in the park of the playing fields it looks like

I've no idea. Do they?

Did being on TopCat teach you nothing? :p
They place the markers down next to specific things they want to photograph, as in "here is Exhibit A, your honour"

Agreed. They certainly aren't looking further than the bench right now. They've been given more information, surely.

I’m wondering if he thought he would be out at 9pm today and then they told him they got another extension and that ‘broke’ him ?

My thoughts exactly. I saw the photos of them at the bench before the update of extension. At first I thought "have they gone there in one last ditch attempt to find more evidence right at the last minute?!" but then they announced the extension... I reckon he's confessed something and that's the basis of the extension. And obviously they've found evidence there. JMO but I'm expecting a charge tomorrow for sure.

Murder charge tomorrow? Maybe?

Yes you’re right.... the final 24 hours is from 9.11pm tonight, if they do decide to go for it.
And yes, they can stop the clock at any time ...and then re arrest him and use whatever time they have remaining
Was he arrested at 9:11pm or booked into detention at a Police Station at 9:11pm. The detention clock only starts when his detention is authorised not at time of arrest.

The bench seems to remain the main focus.

Updates on ninth day of search for missing Libby Squire

If the guy in the video ends up being responsible I just dont see how this bench is going to give LE any evidence since he appears to have gotten back in the car and left so soon after he first left the car after his break there.

Unless he is now claiming there was a struggle at the bench area and maybe they are looking for blood spots.

Im really afraid LE is going to have to find her before they have enough evidence unless they have the right guy and he is now admitting to something.

Different bench.

Anyone know where the bench is in the park? Close to the street or further in?

Just trying to recall, but I don’t think I have ever followed a case which went the full 96 hours and then did not have a charge at the end of it

It's a bench in the park not the one Libby was last seen on.

Am not sure. MSM seem to be using that 9.11 timing but have not indicated whether that is based on police station or if it is the time he was taken from his home.

Thanks. Yes Sera told me it was a different bench so I finally caught on now.

Thanks for everyone following this case and keeping us updated.
