No you're not being dumb!

Originally we thought Libby might live at no 15 because there were photos of a door being luminol'd, that house backs onto the drain.

eekend" or similar. That's how we found out.
Ah, thanks, ok. Now I completely get it. I was confused when you said the Heathcote lady was 100m away... but now I realise you meant from the sheds etc. in the 10 foot the police are searching. Yep - I can see that Libby's garden could well back onto Heathcote lady's garden. (So the speculation about Libby falling into the drain whilst trying to break into the back of her house is irrelevant, assuming Libby's house backs onto Heathcote St.)

Is there any food outlets where the car is parked ? Just asking would you park there if you’d ordered a takeaway in a shop and they said it would be 20 mins so you go back to your car to wait for it to be cooked ?

Yes I thought the same and yes there are quite a few directly opposite the bollards.
Would explain the putting something in the car.

Its odd that he is in that area at midnight without reason. It was mentioned earlier that he could have been visiting friends on that road.

The more i look at the cctv the less i think hes rolling a cigarette. when people normally roll they use their lap to hold cigarette tin or pouch and i dont see anything like this ( i cant watch the gif so only going off youtube) it looks like he his on a phone or counting money. just my opinion of course .

What will happen is that the Police will get a final 12 hours extension to make the total 96 hours. The press have failed to make it clear that the 36 hour extension can be extended this one final time for 12 hours?

I had a idea that maybe the car was parked where it was because it was doing "unofficial" takeaway deliveries? I would have thought that would be quickly figured out, though.

There is also a lay by directly outside the takeaways, maybe the lay by was full.

The bench she was on was right next to a bus stop- I wonder if bus services were running that late?
Saw several posts on the previous thread about this. It seems like there might have been one late enough to see her/be near the stop around 11:40 but not after that. That seems to be the latest bus (due to research done by several people on the thread)...don't know if LS knew that.

it makes sense his mother coukd be confused or translated wrong and he is a delivery driver .

Potentially silly question... I know they've had 72 hours to question him by tonight, but how much time do they actually spend questioning him? Does he just get time to eat, sleep etc and then all the rest of the time he's in a room being questioned? Or do they only ask him stuff for an hour or so at a time? I don't know how anything like that works.
I am in the U.S., where there are not many laws about how long you can question someone without breaks, food, etc. There was a documentary that compared U.S. laws to Britain's, and you all have much more strict and "humane" laws (passed just in the last few years after finding many false confessions given after the suspects were so run down, hungry, tired, that they would say anything to stop the questioning); apparently, it has greatly reduced the number of false confessions there and actually increased the solve rate in violent crimes. So there, you have to give frequent breaks, food, sleep, etc., so it is unlikely that they have been questioning him constantly.

HullLive is fine because it's mainstream media, part of the Hull Daily Mail newspaper

I would think so, would be interesting to know on what grounds it is given.

Sure I read they can only give the extension if they have new information to work on.

Don't think they can ask for it just because they have run out of options so maybe some new info has turned up today.

Felt sure they would find her today.

This must be agony for her family.

Yes, thought it would have to be new evidence and cannot begin to imagine how her family are feeling, a living hell I would think

The police haven't said that. The only source for that (that I know of) is the Daily Mail from a couple of days ago.

EDIT I just googled "although he is not thought to be the man in the CCTV" and it brought up only TWO hits. One is the Daily Mail article, the other is this thread! Basically, nobody else is reporting that statement.

Oh OK. My bad. I thought I'd read that was a quote from police. Difficult to keep up atm.. Damn children needing feeding/taking to ballet/help with homework lol

No the sun newspaper.

Police had it last Sunday. And sounds like the sun did too but the police asked the sun not to publish it straightaway from what I've read.

Pretty sure the police will have proofed that before it was published that though as there are obviously bits missing so maybe they asked for only certain bits to be shown.

The footage from the cctv covering the bench should surely show her being approached by the guy in the cctv.

Wouldn't be surprised if they knew very early on who they suspected and have had him under surveillance (like they did Christopher Helliwell) up until his arrest.

I've not looked extensively but the only links I can find of the CCTV footage is from news websites. There's nothing on the Humberside Police website regarding the CCTV.

Hi Sar - totally messed up my reply before but imo I would treat that report with suspicion about it not being PR. In my opinion this is ITV MSM covering their backs.

I also doubt The Sun later vid as I can imagine that reporters went door to door trying to get a scoop - "Oh here is my CCTV, how much is it worth" kinda thing. and I doubt its relevance atm. Could be wrong of course, but this is big news with so many uncorroborated reports at present. x
So if its media which have released these videos do we know for definite that they are related to LS disappearance. Have LE actually confirmed this?

Do we even know if police are using this video any longer? Seems odd they have not asked for cyclist etc if they needed any back-up possible witnesses etc.

Not that I think someone riding by would have noticed much, if anything, jmo.
