Yeah I was thinking chucking it up. But I agree it's very unlikely.

Perhaps they're just very considerate coppers who noticed the gutters needed cleaning.

They did the same in the Samantha Eastwood investigation - used cameras to check roofs.

But you'd drop it down the drain not throw it up from the front of the house in full view of the street

Possibly, not sure how easy the access is to the drain though, and would be a lot harder to recover. A quick fling onto the roof at night would take seconds, not sure anyone would take much notice on its own.

Kind of thing that could have been mentioned after memories were jogged by those police questions to neighbours though...

Can't be drafting in many in a helicopter...Makes me wonder if they are fetching in a very specialised team for a very specific reason.

Bude park looks really open-
"The force has confirmed that Bude Park is being used by Humberside Police as a landing site so that support can be drafted in from other regional teams in the search for missing Libby."
Force issues statement on why police helicopter was in Hull park

Thank you- that makes sense.

Looks like they don't have much- drafting in more, giving people questionnaires. I hope I am wrong but it seems to be a desperate fishing expedition for more information.

Absolutely correct, you cannot invent a string of reasons for arrest in order to extend past the 96 hour limit. If it's the same incident or strongly connected then they only get one at run it.

Yep

It's not the role of the High Court to find ways around the limits just because police need more time

A drain pipe or gutter would be an extremely odd place to hide something and therefore an extremely odd place to look. So either it's not a camera on the end of the pole or they have information that has directed them to look there.

Cold weather running mask. I could definitely mistake this for a balaclava...
Car parked up while he's running in the area?

Traffickers really don't kidnap middle class university students who will be missed within hours. I will eat every hat in Hull if it's trafficking

Yes, but if he needed money and was involved or had been approached about it then an opportunity appeared. In that super slowed down version of the CCTV after he rolled his cig he looks to be texting with both thumbs. Could he have saying to someone 'there's a girl here...what do you think?' or somesuch.

Unless they actually have found items which need additional resources to help with forensic testing/ sifting through it all to deal with it in the timescales?

They did the same in the Samantha Eastwood investigation - used cameras to check roofs.

I did follow that case but don't remember this, did they say what they were looking for?

Please can we stop with the trafficking silliness?

These kind of urban myths are harmful

They’re checking the drainpipe because they have to check everywhere for clues.

It seems the police think Libby may have went back there with him. Maybe his family were away for a few days. If something happened inside his house, he’s had several days to clean it up.

Agree with Suzy, the last person you would want to abduct for that purpose would be a white middle class british student with friends and family that would immediately miss her.

The Hull River- using google maps street view to have a look at it- the bit I am looking at doesn't look like it's a big river. I am surprised I have not seen reports of the river being searched.

Maybe but logistics of throwing things around in the dark aside why would you want incriminating evidence on your own roof? It will be interesting to see if they find anything

+1

It's a complete misunderstanding of what happens with trafficking
