Raglan St is not a particularly family friendly area, it’s mainly students, but it is cheap. Also there is an active, local Polish community; I can see why they’d maybe want to be there instead of Malton. You’d struggle to find something to rent full stop in Malton, and there definitely wouldn’t be a range of Polish shops in your local vicinity.

Not sure where he lived.

He wasn't single for long. His Instagram shows that he started dating his wife in December of 2014. Baby summer of 2016. Married June of 2018 and baby October of 2018.

His Instagram is private with 0 posts. Maybe it was wiped? But it confirms that timeline at least.

I would assume that he previously lived closer to work near Malton. Maybe Hull is more family friendly so they moved after having kids? Locals can tell me if that's an accurate statement or not but the timing would make sense. Or maybe Hull is more affordable? They'd need more space

Thanks Al Ka fpr this re Renata Antczak

Interesting one - I had a quick look through - what was the general consensus - if you remember ?

There was quite a lot of evidence in trial and proof of nefarious intentions from suspect prior to her disappearance... Consensus was police definitely had right guy in custody and she is no longer with us.

Agree with all that.
Despite the weed and various entanglements, I think a body would be more likely to emerge from the drain than the river hull. Where the drain enters the river near the Whalebone pub in the Wincolmlee area, there is a metal filtration grate up that something the size of a body would never get through - and it's easily viewable from the road and pavements around there.
Sadly, if it were snagged elsewhere in the drain it's potentially less apt to be seen for a long time, if ever, unless specifically searched for because there are fewer stretches where you can walk alongside it compared with the River Hull itself.
Meanwhile though, the river Hull is tidal and sometimes quite fast flowing. Anything going in, even if initially snagged on reeds and so on, would be pulled free and washed out quickly into the huge Humber Estuary and from there into the North Sea. It would have more chance of being spotted on the way to the estuary, but depending on how fast it moves and the time of day, once it's passed by unnoticed, the odds of a discovery plummet massively.
I do not know which would be "best" from a discovery point of view then. :(

Ahh, well now I’m confused. The front facing camera takes flipped images, right? All selfies are mirror images. I can’t tell left from right at the best of times so I’ve no chance of working this out...

A mirror selfie taken with the rear-facing camera flips the image (says the one who's seen a lot of reversed t-shirt slogans on the DM sidebar of shame). The forward-facing camera doesn't; any writing appears normal.

Thanks Al Ka - another poor soul

I’ve got loads of questions this morning I’ll try and do them one at a time so I don’t confuse myself

Firstly can someone explain how the maximum time was allowed in custody for this when we thought it was only used for the most serious of crimes ? Did the police for example treat each crime as separate interview times and keep going back for more time for each other one charged ? Thanks

I keep coming back to the neighbouring students who saw Libby being dropped off by her taxi. They saw her stumbling/ falling down the road and then the next sighting is Libby distressed on the bench. This suggests to me that it’s possible Libby got to her door and saw or heard something she did not like. When I first looked at Wellesley Avenue on Streetview, I noticed how concealed Libby’s front door is by the hedges around it and with a narrow dark entry to the side. It would certainly be the perfect place for someone to hide and wait, whilst still being able to view the street.

Picture of entrance to house I believe is Libby’s.

The extensions would have been granted because he was being investigated for murder. The fact that only lesser charges have so far been made does not mean that the extensions were granted for those crimes.

Does anyone know if these charges if found guilty could mean he would be a registered sex offender? Whatever happens as far as Libby, the polices charges will hopefully mean his risk to public/ his own family will be managed as much as possible

Will be interesting to discover what happens after he appears in court this morning.

He has endured 96 hours of detainment, faced intense questioning.

It appears he has not incriminated himself in either Libby's disappearance, manslaughter or murder to be charged.

So either:
  • He is innocent and does not know what has happened to her.

  • He killed her and is exceptionally confident her body won't be found.

  • Has hidden her alive and is exceptionally confident she won't be found.
The Police search methods strongly indicate that they are still searching for someone that is alive and hidden.

My next question again regards timings , so today he appears in court , what exactly happens ? Can a judge find him guilty of those charges today ? Does he stay arrested ? Do all the timings apply again if another charge is put against him ? Thanks

He was not arrested on suspicion of murdering Libby. He was arrested on suspicion of abducting her. The Police could not and still cannot prove that she has been murdered. The detention extensions were granted on the basis of the investigation related to the abduction arrest.

Charges - outraging public decency is probably public intoxication. I definitely want to read more about voyeurism and burglary charges... Those are somewhat more serious. Where did they came from suddently? I doubt police ignored them in past, if they knew...

Hopefully someone will talk and Libby will be found soon.

Outraging public decency is masturbating in public in my opinion.

Yes I hope Libby is found really soon.

This case is causing me to think much further outside of the box than usual. Craziest thought so far: Libby is in the other car that we see travel past smoking guy. Girl getting into car with smoking guy is not Libby, and is in fact a decoy, deliberately placed in front of a cctv camera (with a fricking spiderweb across it.) I know how nuts this is. It’s been a long month.

The Daily Mirror's Twitter post about Libby from two hours ago is interesting.

Twitter

I can't see anything new or interesting there. What am I missing?

He will appear in Magistrates Court this morning, this is purely an administrative step. There are no Judges in this low level in the Court System. They will schedule an appearance in Crown Court probably in about a weeks time. He will either be bailed or remanded in custody.

Unless he makes the highly unusual decision to enter a guilty plea at Crown Court a trial will be scheduled at some point in the future. At that stage the date is unlikely to be agreed.

It would be very difficult to get any more time to question him if the full 96 hours have been used up.

Just out of interest I found this on the sound of foxes calling - the 'vixen scream' really does sound like a person!

The first time I heard a vixen scream like that I sat up in bed and was "what the hell was that?!" but it was explained to me that I was "in the countryside now" . It really does sound like a woman screaming. Good points you've raised here. What about the wooden door bang. Has anyone near to the witness hearing the scream owned up to shutting a door then I wonder?
