Even if she were alive and kept locked somewhere, it’s unlikely she survived this long, what with the lack of food and water, stress, and possible wounds.

Unless the person who took her has someone else helping them out

Does that mean that maybe they think Libby was in the other car- the Megane or whatever it was? Didn't that leave around 12.05?

  • #703
I can't believe I told my partner not to call me on his way home from work, just to watch a video of someone reading me a statement that I'd already read, and not answering any questions. Sigh.

  • #704
Well that didn’t fill me with confidence I’m afraid .....

Very late with the PC but given all the statements already drip fed I doubt it is worth it now. The below quote makes it clear they won't answer questions or show any CCTV IMO.

The only potentially interesting thing is the 12:05 time in relation to the 12:09 Haworth Street car. Is that car related or not? Surely it can be officially ruled out if unrelated? I hope the press ask.

I wonder if she was in that car and it is the suspect and they can't say yes because that could/would create a biased Jury at trial? This maybe what he means here “While I understand everyone will have questions in relation to the enquiries and searches we have carried out, at this moment in time we are not in a position where we can provide answers without jeopardising the investigation or any potential future prosecutions.”

So that's at least 3 of you locals that have been or are going. Any one else? Much appreciated. Let us know your findings or feelings.

@Strontium69
@scootermuppet
@Kolumbo
@craggy121

Thank you all!
I took photos but am struggling to work out how to upload them. The park is sparse. The red brick house over looks the car park very easily. There is s ranger type station in the carpark. The red brick house would hear and be able to see the carpark at least. I’ll work on those photos.

So to sum up for the people who missed the press conference:

The police admitted they believe Libby "may have come to some harm"

They can't tell us anything else because it might jeopardise the case

Other than that, nothing new to discuss other than discussing that there's nothing new to discuss.

Anyone local know if the park is known for regularly having youths in it late at night?

  • #709
Why 12:05 not 12:09 ???? When they have been using 12:09 for days ???

Maybe the 12:09 cctv footage (spiderweb cam) still remains an unconfirmed sighting of Libby? But possibly they have a confirmed sighting of her at the bench at 12:05? I don't know :(

It was said in an earlier thread, people sometimes sit at the abandoned boathouse in the evenings during summer, but I reckon the park is quite during a winter night on a thursday.

Anyone think that the timeline given of wanting info between 11 and three - is indicting PR didn't return home until 3am. i think it's odd they specifically mention 3am

I'm sure the Police think that it is Libby entering PR's car at 12.05. His sister also basically confirmed that her brother game her a lift home. For it to be someone else helped into the car, in that location, the exact time she is known to become absent from the bench, and for that someone to be a pervert to university girls and just as he drops her "home" the foxes begin screaming in the park. Too many coincidences...no?

Yes. We know this because our boys 21 and 19 used to skate at the skate section. Large green areas very little lighting. Pond very hidden from view with tall bracken. The river runs along the outer edge behind a raised bank with walk track on top. Many old out buildings and a few open old shipping containers. Full of beer cans, old clothing, rubbish bags. I took photos of it...how do I post them here?

So there is an "investigation" going on, not just a search for a missing person then? Maybe for us the public what we see with the park etc is a - don't look here, look over there?

Thank you. To add photos go to 'upload a file', then when it loads click thumbnail and then reply

I thought this time was given because its the time people leave the clubs at and go home, but it could be when he returned home. I have a feeling after he ran away from the park he returned home though, I think this incident unfolded very quickly

my thoughts exactly. they did this in another case I followed last year.

I just struggle to believe ITV would have gone ahead and run that footage if it was known to be him.

Also I would think passing cars and foot traffic was quite high in that area with a takeaway, late night Sainsbury's and pub close by. Someone surely saw Libby go to that car if that is what happened?

Actually this is one of those details that I think has got mixed up in this case. Police have only ever said Libby is seen on CCTV on Beverley Road near the bench. Not actually sitting on it. In earlier statements by Humberside they have said she may have been in the area until 12:09 (a subtle reference to the spiderweb cam) but now have ruled it out but can't/don't want to say yet?
