Judging by Libby’s friends interview, they state she didn’t have her phone with her all day. I took that as their gathering of friends drinking session had started during the day. The youngsters trend nowadays seems to consist of meeting at one house for pre-drinks, get pretty much blathered before going out and having to pay pub prices. Perhaps number 15 is another student house where they all met? Perhaps Libby thought she may have left her key there. It was reported whether rightly or wrongly that Libby had fallen whilst out, maybe scrubbed knees. Could she possibly have gone to number 15 also to try and retrieve her key. Just a thought...

Sorry, I am really behind this a.m. - but pretty sure the friend in the blue jacket (the shrugger) mentioned they all met up somewhere at the University for pre drinks?
Not got time atm to double check, anyone else remember accurately great.[/QUOTE]
Sorry if this has been answered but he said they were all at a party at another friend's place. Libby was drunk and huggy and yes he is very shruggy.

Am I right in remembering the Police have said after LS left the bench, she 'wandered' the student area for a while? This hasn't been mentioned on here for a while. There must have been witnesses surely that saw her? Am assuming this is why the statement came out the cctv had been ruled out possibly?

I can’t see any facts that relate to that at all , first I’ve heard of it

Just seems a bit to casual to me: That is an impressive amount of self control if he in fact has a history of other impulsive behavior and if he was planning on doing something criminal at the time.

Why panic? He’s not thinking about murdering her. He thinks he’s got lucky. She seems drunk enough that he might get his way with her. He’s anticipating it.
Only when she rebuffs him does it get out of hand because panic kicks in.
He already has a history of flashing and remains uncaught. Hers might be the description with which Police can catch him.

Hi all would just like to ask a question don't know if it has been asked before sorry if it has. But after watching the cctv from Haworth street 100 of times its only came to my notice if you look at the clock from the time smoking man opens the passenger door to the time he gets back round to open he's door it takes just over 12 seconds. But if you go by the times on the clock it takes 31 seconds. You can see the clock jumping and the picture going fast forward why would they fast forward the frames like this what are they hiding ?

Just got in so catching up , we were told that the 9 minute video had been cut and parts speeded up when it was released

Do you think we could do a post on agreed facts? Inc the most common 'unknown's?

Just catching up , the facts are on front page , that’s all we have

Direct from Police we have:

Seen on CCTV at 23:40 on Beverley Road.
Seen near the bench (not on it) at no stated time.
May have been in the area until 12:09 (though the latest update has reverted to the earlier 12:05 last seen).

Spot on, he thought it was his chance to take advantage, wouldn’t be surprised if she started to nod off in car, most people who are drunk have the habit of sleeping pretty rapid in warm cars with motion. Probably got to park and started to try it on when she woke up and then all hell broke loose and panic set in when she tried to get out etc

Exactiy this. IMO

I remember in the very first couple of days that a witness said they saw her on beresford avenue. I'm 99% sure and I think they even said it was some time past 12 and I also vaguely remember police saying she may have wandered the area until 12:09 I assumed they were referencing that witness. So originally it seemed she went down Beresford and maybe fell in the drain. I'm not sure if intentional or not but the police have been really confusing with the details.

I'm starting to think that on day 1, the police went to the bench where Libby was last seen.

Then saw the camera on haworth
St.

Then saw the whole version of the CCTV and saw pr put Libby in and drive off.

Then they watched pr to see if he led them to libby and when he didn't they arrested him.

When he denied seeing her they probably showed him the CCTV and he admitted it was him and that he dropped her off.

Then he probably.used his phone call to call his sister and tell her that he gave Libby a lift and she made a move and to tell the rest of the family.

Just catching up , the police did not have the cctv on day 1 , itv got it and gave to police we think possibly sat / sun as the police statement on Monday morning changed by late Monday when a second statement was released regarding the times

I remember them saying she was apparently seen wandering toward Beresford avenue originally aswell. I think it was one of the only things the police did say on their webpage. Not sure if that's been changed now .

Also I'm stumped why Libby would refuse any help from the grey bearded man but a few minutes later jump into a car with a complete stranger drunk or not.

Especially if his English is also poor it seems unlikely to me without some more context (info form Police!).

See I always had it in my head that he had set out to assault and harm her.....but maybe your right he may have just thought I have a really drunk girl in my car she might be persuaded and then it turned nasty.

But then I think of his public masturbating and sex toy stealing and j go back to my original thinking that he meant harm all along.

Oh, so they might have seen on day 2 or three.

I still thats what might have happened but I also really don't think that's Libby getting into the passenger side, so Im very confused!

That was early on though that timeline I think.

The timings are pretty off for a start so I'm not sure how accurate that is.

I never trust the daily mail to get facts right.

The grey bearded man was older.
That would’ve felt suspicious to her
Some more time had elapsed by the time PR approached her.
By that point she was even colder and more despondent.

The other thing we have to keep in mind if PR is the perp is that he could have gone back to that park multiple times before being arrested on the Wednesday night if that is where something bad happened.

I've assumed Police were on to him within hours of getting the Haworth Street CCTV (if him) but what if they weren't?

I'm not sure how Police go about tracing CCTV movement when they have a subject, but would working backwards work best? So check the CCTV on/around Newland Ave to see what time his car came home (the 03:00 time Police mentioned?) and work backwards.

Perhaps he is on CCTV going back n forth to there a few times

That’s why I’m sure she recognised him, I’m going with she knew him from gym, didn’t know bearded guy so said no, but saw PR and he offered to help, maybe after they talked at bench she had no keys and mates were at welly, he said he would drive her to nightclub to get keys from flat mates and that’s why she was so willing....she then fell asleep in car and he did the detour...
