There was a report posted elsewhere from a guy who saw two men acting suspiciously with shovels at a cemetery at back of his house the day after he had heard screams. Also there was a photo of them with a white van. Be interesting to see what follows. The guy reported he had spoken to police and gave a statement and that they would be in touch if needed. Maybe now they are following up. I have seen mentioned by people that the colour of the top of the guy in new CCTV looked similar to what he saw. Wasn't mentioned which cemetery.

Yes, bright red hoodie seems a bit too eye attracting if you are up something nefarious

Seems a long time for them to be there! Would there be more than 3 cars there though if it was LS related?
I agree. And it isn't that far away really. But does seem odd when they have concentrated their searches around Oak Road

More likely drugs than bomb. Though could something ghastly (not saying the obvious)

It's Priory Woods. I've been there and it's a really lovely cemetery actually. Fairly new and well maintained.

From Hull Live

Police release statement
We have cordoned off the cemetery on Priory Road following the discovery of a suspicious package.

This is not in connection with any ongoing investigation and we are carrying out enquiries to establish the nature of the package.

We do not believe there is any danger to members of the public however the cemetery is cordoned off to allow officers to work safely.

There was a case quite local to me where a man killed his girlfriend and buried her in a recent grave (it was his uncle's). Police at the time said they'd never known a case like this before, so you have to wonder how many murder victims have been disposed of in this way and remain undiscovered. It's like hiding a book in a library.

Didn't even know there was one there! And never heard of Strawberry Walk...I am the worst local ever!

I believe this is a different cemetery my friend.

Probably. Didn't give a name.

Edit: Well this new one doesn't seem connected. The other still sounds suspicious though could be perfectly innocent.

1) I wonder if the bench that forensics swooped on the park for is one of them around the pond. I can’t see any others in the park unless my eyes are deceiving me.

2) Is the Car Park always closed on a night or just since the disappearance?

3) The land to the side of the Croda plant surely they have footage of that patch. Especially a top tier chemical plant.

4) Is it possible to exit the park by car any other way than what you can come in?

Not on here. It was 'elsewhere'. Quite detailed. Is he same person?

I actually saw exactly what you were referring to..the original... and he later retracted it saying there was a mix up.

There are quite a few benches in the park. I never did know which one that forensics were around?

The car park at that side is always locked on a night, the park keeper does it as he leaves. You can't get out any other way, there is another car park but you can't get onto the park in car, just on foot.

Not 100 per cent certain, but in my head the bench they swabbed was on the pathway leading from the car park to the lake...in front of the wind turbine. So, a good few metres from the lake.

OK yeah that makes sense. It's kind of halfway between the car park and pond. It would be the first benah that someone would come across if they were walking from the car park

It's a passageway (or "tenfoot" as we call it in Hull) sort of opposite the bench by the shops, between the barbers and the student lets place. It's notorious, but may just be childhood stories.
Yes! I remember the word “tenfoot” in many comments as I had to google it to see what it meant

Didn't someone on here report a 'small grave' near Croda. Is that anywhere near where the new cctv footage is from?

From Kol ( one of the Umbo twins) from a prev thread.
Kolumbo Just one more thing, sir...

So further to my pics posted yesterday, I wanted to describe something slightly odd I spotted on my walk along the riverbank. It's probably nothing too sinister, but I have to mention it. Just south of Oak Rd Park, about level with the big wind turbine, I spotted a small patch of loose, freshly disturbed soil. It was in a gap in the undergrowth set tight, I think, against the fence that separates the field with the turbine from the river bank path. It wasn't huge. From memory, a maximum of about 3.5 foot in length, maybe 2 foot depth, and roughly rectangular. It may in actuality have been smaller than that. On top of it was a short, chunky piece of driftwood, like a mini railway sleeper or a gatepost. I was intrigued and with the lack of anything else to dig with I picked up the wood and scraped away at the surface. Just below it there was a scattering of something I quite stupidly didn't observe closely enough to ascertain what it was, and didn't take photos of. I couldn't get too close because the branches protruding through the fence were snagging my new hoodie and I didn't want it ruined. It looked like either coloured petals of some kind (unlikely?), or shards of vivid coloured plastic - red, or deep purple (I'm colour blind so can't say for sure). Scratching a little deeper I did not see anything protruding from the ground and the piece of wood was too chunky to actually leverage the ground at all, and then I heard a woman coming along the bank calling her dog so I ditched the hunk of wood, climbed back up on the bank and proceeded on my way. My assumption, given the small size and apparent deliberate "marker" / ornamentation of an unknown nature was that maybe a frequent walker in that area had recently decided to bury their dead dog there. It was close-ish to the park, but you'd have a job describing it as within "dragging/carrying distance" (for a human body anyway). Presumably whoever dug that out did so with a spade, and it would have taken some quite considerable time and been almost impossible in the dead of night. None of this seems like it would have applied to PR. Besides, if you went to the trouble to bury a body in a fairly popular walking spot, you'd not leave a conspicuous marker, would you? But I had to mention it, just in case. Maybe if someone else goes along there today you can scrutinise it in more detail. Cling to the fence separating the river walk from the field containing the big turbine heading south from the park. Eventually you'll spot it. Wish I'd taken a bloody photo of it now though.

Not retracted. He thought the police didn't take him seriously. The 'I was wrong' referred to that and the fact the police did search.

Some things you can't mention on here. I do however know not to concern myself with what you're referring to.
