Off topic - but how could you not smell anything. Not saying it was cannabis you were growing but I can smell it a mile off. It's an awfully strong smell
A handy, if Off Topic, short Guardian guide to Neighbouring Green Odour.
How to spot if you have a cannabis farm next door

I remember a msm story about an elderly lady who was inadvertently living next door to a large cultivation house that had by mistake coupled up their extractor system into the lady's ventillation system.

She was aware she felt slightly different but couldnt explain why her pet dog had become obese and the petfood bill had trebled.

Ps. The Police are always thorough in drug cases, except when logging charges , somehow the weight of any stash is often lower when the charges are read out in court than what the cultivator/possessor knows was confiscated. ;)

I believe the bus drops off at The Haworth pub on the corner, the quickest route on foot to LS house is to walk past the bench she was last seen at. I agree that she has highly likely taken that bus with friends and walked that way home on Saturdays. (I think there’s late night buses on Wednesday night also, not sure whether to that stop tho). The buses run hourly. It’s possible that PR parked in Haworth Street to then walk the rest of the way to the student area where LS house is, he was allegedly in that area 10 days earlier up to no good! We don’t know how many times he had possibly done this procedure to be fair.

Just to update. I’ve had confirmed that late night bus runs on a Wednesday night also. I think it’s highly likely that LS has used these buses before, rather than taxis and presumed they would also run on a Thursday also.
On checking the times, the first late night bus arrives at The Haworth Pub stop at about 11.48pm, about a minute walk from the Bench. So, it makes sense that LS would head to the Bench hoping some of her fellow students may get off. This also would suggest that whilst perhaps rather drunk, she was still alert.

Yes, I would expect that. My dogs always seemed to find some deceased animal or fish to roll in at the farm or beach, god knows why they have the urge to do that.

I honestly don’t know what it smells of! I’m surrounded by crop fields, I’m used to chicken, pig & horse poop being spread on the fields.

Police decided the smell was possibly coming up thru a water drain at the front of my house by my bush from further up the hamlet! I was innocent honestly!
Can you smell tobacco smoke?

And did one of those students abduct her? Someone she knew or vaguely knew and considered safe?

Sorry if this has been discussed before and I’ve missed it.

With regards to being bailed out or not, would it make any difference as to police interviews? What I’m trying to ask is whether the police are able to question him further re LS disappearance at the moment?

No, that’s not what I’m suggesting. The bus wasn’t running on the Thursday night. But, perhaps LS (and possibly PR) didn’t realise that.

No absolutely not.

They had their 96 hours.

Unless they rearrest on new evidence then they can't question him.

Yes I think it is that video, it's later on from where I speak to the press guy on the bank...

22:30

Yeah a green hoody on the floor, I did notice it. But I've done a fair bit of urbex as a photographer that discarded clothing is just such a common feature of these types of places.

27:36 There's a child's play tent

I guess I noticed but didn't 'note it' as I see that kind of thing all the time in these settings.

Something bothering you about that?
I guess someone should check the hoodie for a DNA trace...

I think that's why she was there. I also think that's why he was there. Her reasons are obvious and innocent His have no obvious innocent explanation. I also wonder if he's been seen there before. How long is CCTV kept

Yes, this is what I was wondering, whether the police have looked back to see whether he regularly parks there, at times the student bus is due.

A safe group of housemates would have no reason not to use a bus. It would also be a good place for PR to pick out lone students or follow a group on the off chance they would go their separate ways at some point

I can see why it would be a very good location if that was your plan. There was also a recent charge of masturbating on Wellesley avenue. I wonder if that was on a bus night but there were no lone students to grab?

That happened on Jan 19 (sat)

That charge happened on the 19th January, a Saturday..but it's not been released what time of day it was.

Its feesable she would think this. Not sure if its been confirmed but likely that she would live in Halls in the first year and move to a shared house in the second year. On this basis she may have only been living in that area for around 3 / 4 months so assume buses run that late every night.

If it were just after midnight, the time Libby was last seen, is it feasible he'd trailed a group of students / youngsters from that bus but they had remained in a group? I'm getting increasingly angry that no warnings were given to students! It might have made her more wary!

True! If he is guilty of the charges then he's been a despicable menace for many months to that area and the young women in it.

When is the verdict likely to be given? And what is he likely to face in terms of a sentence, if any? And if not, and he gets out, what then? Do the police have enough to charge him on abduction, or murder?

why still no Facebook group organising a mass walking group searching the park ? This is always one of the first things I see the local community organising in cases like these .
Hi Ched...I have been wondering about this for so long. I remember asking in another thread why the public wasn't searching, and why there hadn't been a sort of grid search of the park (whether by the police or volunteers) - where people link arms almost and cover every patch of ground. It doesn't seem like LE have blocked off any space so it could not be accessed, so I don't think LE is stopping anyone from doing this. Or more searching along the river. I share your sentiments! And this is not to say that I don't think the public or her family care...I believe a lot of people care, but it has definitely seemed odd to me.

I'd like to go myself if I wasnt working
It's so true! Don't you feel sometimes like your job is getting in the way of you following the case or acting?! I know it's absurd, but I was upset when I was going to miss a press conference back a week or two ago because I had to go to a meeting. I am actually a social worker and have often wondered how I could get involved with helping the families of the missing. It just seems like an obscure "career," and I wouldn't even know where to begin. Many organizations require law enforcement experience - even to counsel people involved in these cases.
