Could stealing very personal sexually related items and personal photos be deemed to be more psychologically damaging than just electrical goods and bank statements? I know I'd be far more freaked out losing things like that, with zero resale value, than losing a few lap tops

Yes. I think it would really mess with your head which I'm sure is the intention. His having your private objects creates a powerful ongoing psychological link with him that only the most ultra-rational victim could be unaffected by, I think.

Less easy to quantify in court than the cost of a new laptop but I'm really glad they are trying to take that into account now when sentencing.

Lol, where I live (London) you'd risk eighty quids worth of ticking off at any time of day or night for parking on a double yellow for 20 minutes, especially in a dead end street where you're making it hard for residents to turn their cars around at the end.

Think we're a bit more chilled up north, suppose not as much congestion or money to be made for the enforcement officers as there is in London.

His solicitor said in court that there would be no point in applying for bail, when his house is all boarded up. Strange, but true.

Would that suggest he’s not welcome where his wife is staying and doesn’t have her support, despite him pleading and would like us believe he’s not guilty? Or possibly the Mrs is in Poland and he would not be able to leave the UK?

I think she's probably in Poland unless she has family here.

If I was in her situation I'd get as far away as I could even if I thought he was innocent...id be too worried about repurcussions

I was surprised that they didn’t at least have a go at getting bail. But if he had nowhere to go, they could hardly have sent him to a bail hostel. Imagine how that would have ended if some of the blokes found out who he was!

To be honest I'd leave my hubby if he got so much as a speeding ticket some days

Don't think anyone has managed to contact her for comment.

He would not be allowed to leave the UK, it would be a condition of bail should it be granted.

I asked my girlfriend what she'd do if we were in this situation and she said she'd go on all the news channels saying I was innocent. I asked her would she not think it would be suspicious if I gave a girl a lift home and then she disappeared and she said no because she knows that I'd never do anything like that!
Maybe PR's wife doesn't trust him! Is she allowed to go to the papers and give her opinions or not?
