Your theory of what happened seems very plausible. Aside from alternate scenarios I often hypothesise over for the sake of elimination, I’m much inclined to agree that this is most likely what happened.

Yes, I read some of her friends from that evening quit their university courses to return home to loved ones. How do you even begin to return to normal life after something like this. The constant ‘what ifs’ and sliding doors moments must be a recurring nightmare. Not to mention the dark place her family are stuck in.

Thanks Vermont for all your work helping us to picture the area.

There's been an awful lot of unjust blame levied against her friends. As second years, some of them may well be only 19 or 20, and can't possibly have the resilience and experience to deal with this without a significant amount of support. Who does? Their lives have been altered forever.

Yes, I am. It's the closest residential property I can see on satellite view and has cars in the drive so I reckon it's lived in. When @Strontium69 (I think) went down there he said the trees were bare enough to have a view of the park and the path. See what you think.

Yes absolutely.

That house has no windows on the south facing side (looking towards the skate park) , all the big bay windows are on the east facing side (back of the house), looking right down the path towards the abandoned buildings.

Perhaps it was because the reason I was there contrasted sharply with what I was seeing, and that the scenario I set out earlier is what I believe until proven otherwise. Life must have stopped in many ways for LS's loved ones, and people enjoying their day here despite what happened, perhaps even oblivious to it, seems cruel and sad.

I think this is always the case for any bereavement Vermont as life for everyone else carries on as normal for the bereaved you are stuck in a bubble in some sort of bad dream. Staying local it must be very hard for you to go about your business without having an earie sick pang in your stomach. Her poor family and friends it must be the worst situation ever not knowing. I just keep hoping for some sort of breakthrough

It had 6 cars parked on the grounds today, and has an 'institutional' look to it (vertical blinds in just about every window). The back door also had no external furniture, giving it the appearance of a fire escape. I wonder if it has another purpose other than private residence.

Yes PR should be in court tomorrow. I wonder if Joelle will be there again to give us a first hand report on the proceedings and how PR looks and behaves. It's great when a Hull local can do that or all we hear is very generalised info.

I have to say the locals on this thread have far outdone themselves. @Vermont24 @Strontium69 @Joelle88 Thank you all for everything you have done. Greatly appreciated. Please forgive me if I forgot anyone. I think this thread has more locals than any I have been on.

Totally agree. Their local knowledge is invaluable and all of our Hull locals use their precious time to go out and find information and post their photos and videos to help us all with our discussions and to formulate ideas to help with the search for Libby. Brilliant work. Thankyou to the Hull locals for everything you are doing.

Does anyone know if LE searched the abandoned buildings?

This made me feel weird.

In my mind I have you down as brave and fearless Vermont, for all the wonderful local pics you’ve shared so far and locations you’ve been to.

Your hesitancy feels palpable in this instance. I wonder what stopped you going there today? It must feel strange watching park life play out as normal in front of you.

I’m also creeped out by Casual getting a feeling about this week. I thought your premonition was about to become a fast reality with the Hull news alert this evening.

I do hope Joelle will attend tomorrow. PR must look very different in that court room with a couple of extra stone in weight and absence of glasses.

Having done a little digging I don’t think PR has family in the UK. I know some people suggested a family member might have been an accomplice but I don’t think that’s possible. His sister lived here in 2014 but since moved to Norway. His other siblings live in Germany and the small town he is from in Poland. Most are younger than he is and still live at the family home.

I was reading back over PRs mothers comments in MSM today. It’s odd, and I’d need to pick out specific quotes to highlight what I mean ... but something in the way she speaks about her son is as though she knows he is capable of something.

‘If something isn’t right, God forbid, then there must be punishment.’

‘I would rather die than know he is guilty. My heart is breaking over this and I feel so sad for the girl’s parents and what they are going through.’

‘everyone has a weak side and there is no such thing as an ideal person’

I appreciate that this is a translated interview under difficult circumstances for her. But it’s alnost as if her worst fears are being realised. Suggesting ‘everyone has a weak side’ does not instil confidence.
Strangely enough I had similar feelings about the way his mother spoke about him. It was different quotes though. One was that she'd spoken to his wife nearly every day throughout their 5 year relationship and she'd always said they were great. His wife had never raised concerns about him with her. I thought that was odd statement.

But I guess things lose a lot in translation and it must be difficult for her.

I've had a bit of free time today so had chance to think a about the case.

Is it me or did it escalate into a big missing case really quickly?

I'm pretty sure they where searching Oak Road pond by Saturday morning.

I think a while ago it was discussed and someone suggested police acted quickly due to freezing temperatures and the fact Libby was very drunk after her friends reported her missing

Yes, I re read that quote again today too. It felt odd to me. Would his wife really have daily telephone contact with her mother-in-law? And if so, why might she be expected to raise any concerns about her husband. Odd. But it’s feasible that PRs mother might want to see her grandkids and FaceTime is an easy way to stay connected internationally.

The ‘everyone has a weak side’ is the one that got me. Not something I’d want my mother saying about me whilst I’m protesting my innocence!

As you say, possibly lost in translation. And yes, awful for her to come to terms with if he is involved.

Agreed. They are not to blame at all. Her friends will live with this forever. Her poor family will live with it forever. Grey Beard and the students that saw her by her door could also be plagued with what ifs as well.

Thank you @HopeForGoodNews that map gives me a much clearer idea now

I have had recent first hand experience of how @Vermont24 felt near the park. Although in no way comparable to Libby & her family’s nightmare, My own sudden loss has meant places that were a normal part of life before are either still a no go or hard to visit and a sense of resentment/disbelief creeps in - how can the world continue smiling, going about a normal day to day? Thank you & well done to Vermont for even getting as far as you have done. And to the @Strontium69 & @Joelle88 also for their dedication. Sat with anxious anticipation on hearing the update before and I must admit I got rather emotional. This all just goes to show how much we care about Libby and her family x

Yes, her friends were already searching for her by 1am. So I think it was reported very early on and I’m sure it was considered extremely out of character. That combined with the freezing temperatures, and her being so intoxicated. I’m assuming this would be enough to start an investigation very early on?

I can't stop thinking about her family, her friends and the life she isn't going to have the nightmare she must have gone through. Seeing people being happy in the place where all that was destroyed must be really hard. You've done a brilliant job.

Libby has got into my head like no other missing person/suspected murder case ever has. It started because she is a Hull University student like my daughter was and lived where my daughter lived Wellesley Avenue but now Libby is always in my head every day. It's such a sad tragic case. I just want whoever has harmed such a vibrant intelligent caring student to be brought to justice. I think we all do on here or why are we here. I think it's brilliant that we are all trying to work out what happened to Libby so many exchanges of ideas and respectful discussions. Excellent

Just want to say hello, long time lurker but just signed up today, I have a daughter of a similar age to Libby, I cant imagine what her family & friends are going through, a living nightmare, I noticed today posts saying that her friends were posting on Social Media as early as 1.30am that she was missing, this is the first time that I have heard this?
