Hi Winterbells

When you mentioned Paull earlier, I actually looked at that same shot as you have now posted. It's literally years since I went out to Paull, but as I recall the water close inshore is relatively shallow and is mud banks at low tide. However, set against that, you're right - there was a body reported off Paull.

The journey from Oak Road Playing Fields out to Paull would have been a tedious one however. Getting to anywhere in Holderness is like taking a steam train to the fourth dimension... I have relos who live out at Sunk Island, so I know of which I speak. I am guessing down Beverley Road into town then out along Hedon Road, past Marfleet and Saltend, would probably be quicker in real life than trying to cut the corner.
Hi Woolybear :)
Thanks for having a look and a good think about it all. I was really amazed at how close the water is in that spot, and assumed it would be easy to drive there from Oak Road playing fields, ie, along Clough Rd, right along Mount Pleasant Road, left onto Heddon Road, then right onto Paull Road. But I know it all looks very different on a map compared to the actual reality! Those look like main roads, but I guess not?
I was under the impression there was going to be a high tide a few hours after Libby was on the bench, no? If so, wouldn't the water wash up against the muddy shore and carry anything back into the river's current?

It would be interesting to know how quickly an object, thrown into the Hull at the park at high tide, would take to reach the Humber. Perhaps someone could experiment with something visible like a beach ball?
(Just to get an idea of the speed: I would assume a body would be submerged most of the time)
I was just reading a report by doctors who work in an underwater recovery team and they said they had a case where a person crashed and fell into a river and travelled for 175 miles I'm 3 days!

In the report it says that a body in water of 40 degrees Fahrenheit usually takes between 14-20 days to surface.

The colder the water the longer it takes to resurface.

There is something there that they dont want us to see.
• She could be cosying up to PR
• She could have been having a wee
• He may have given her a key of coke
• He may have handed her a joint

More likely it's just not any of our business, they don't need the public to identify anyone in the footage, and they're using it for operational reasons in an active investigation.

Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean there is anything especially interesting that they are hiding from us.

Paddy, I’m inclined to think none of these, but we don’t know for sure as we haven’t seen all the cctv.

Where was that? Must have been a big river!

What if she vaguely recognised him from wherever (the gym got discussed a lot, as did him possibly illegal taxiing) and figured she'd be better in a warm car than a cold street.

I don't think she knew him, by the way, I'm just adding to your list

I've said before I also wonder if he offered to help her break into her house by saying he was a locksmith or something.

I doubt she knew him but the locksmith idea would be quick thinking on his part and she’d probably fall for it . I wonder if he’s that bright though

I think at the very least showing images of Libby distressed on a bench in the freezing cold would be unbearable for Libby's family.

Yes, but where's the bit where he (or another neighbour) mentioned that he thought PR shared the car with another man?

No prize for you, yet!
Ah.. yeah, the quote satisfies me regarding who owned the car, but the bit about sharing must have been in another article. I think a prize is still appropriate though - a merit, maybe, rather than a distinction.

It's not that I particularly need to see the quote, I know it was said. I'm more interested in finding it because if reference to that little bit has been removed from the news articles, why?

Ha yeah maybe..... I guess it may ignite some anger against what is still an ‘innocent’ PR

Maybe he simply said ,’ come on , it’s freezing , I’ll give you a lift home’
Creeepy sh*thead

I think a lot of flowers these days have a little bag of water at the bottom of the stems, held on with an elastic band, underneath the wrapping paper. This would obviously keep them fresh for longer. Without having access to a vase, I can see why people would leave the wrapping on, especially if there's a little bag of water inside.
I've never seen such a thing. Flowers are usually sold out of buckets of water. If any florists do that, it would be intended to be very temporary.
What is so difficult about bringing along a jam jar or other recyclable container?
People don't leave the paper wrappings on flowers at home, it just seems extraordinary to me that if they're going to the trouble and expense of buying flowers, they then leave them hidden under waste paper. It looks awful.

Well, he's allegedly a burglar so quite possibly could have broken in, though he'd have to dress it up as something legal. Might have seemed a tempting option, or at least a relevant one.

Yeah it’s hard to know what he did or said but he convinced her to get in his car to go somewhere.
How and where , are the 2 questions....

I’m surprised nobody’s come forward to say he’s offered to take them home before..... surely he’s not got lucky the first time he’s done this .
Surely he has failed attempts at trying to lure women into his car before.....

High tide was at 02.34 in the morning of the 1st February.

They may well have. He's been implicated in plenty of crimes since his arrest.

If we're talking about quotes.

There was one in a tabloid paper.

Quoting a source along the lines of "The police knew she was abducted from the beginning behind her house on Beresford Avenue"

Can anyone find it?

I can't find the car sharing quote anywhere damnit.
