I don’t think they can question him further. Not from what I’ve read from varying sites on Google. 96 hours is the absolute limit.
They’re option now is to release him from being under investigation or charge him. It’s not clear how long you can be under investigation though but from what I’ve read if it’s deemed unreasonable their lawyer can apply to be released. I think.
Was he questioned solely under suspicion of kidnap/abduction?
Does anyone know of a new charge, murder would reset the clock? Or is it in relation the the whole offence?
