Indeed, and given that he has since stood trial for other offences, I'm surprised his solicitor didn't push for that case to be closed.He remained under investigation for the first offence. - this is my point!
As you say he can remain under investigation indefinitely unless the case is closed. Thanks for the clarification regarding LE having full power to requestion people under investigation. I wasn't aware that was the case
As it currently stands he is in prison serving an 8.5 year sentence for sexual offences. These charges came after he was arrested on suspicion of abduction.
He was arrested and released under investigation for Libby's abduction in February. That case hasn't been closed. He remains under investigation.
After he was sentenced he was then arrested on suspicion of murder, held for 24 hours and been released under investigation.
No cases against him have been closed.
