Well, that's it. All we can do now is wait and hope that justice will be served.
This case brought me to websleuths and will always stay with me. I've followed many cases since, but Libby is always in my thoughts. It's been really great to 'meet' with like minded people and share our discussions. We may not always agree but that's what makes this site so great, that despite differences of opinion, ultimately we all want the same goal and that is to seek the truth, and justice.
A huge tip of the hat to those here who go above and beyond, going out to take photos, researching, and having altercations with motorists on our behalf!! ;)
I hope that the wait is not too long for the Squire family, and I hope they get the justice they seek.

I second that :)

Interesting point. Would PR be more or less likely to have faced charges and a trial IF Libby had never been found?

I dont think he would have been charged with anything at all if that had been the case.

Well done Judge.
Good call.
I’m so glad this has been added as an option for the jury, as things stand I don’t know if I could convict of murder but I would be 100% fine, conscience clear, with manslaughter, even if the chain is slightly broken, his actions definitely led to her death whatever you believe happened or feel what has been proved to have happened.

Yes massive thank you jamjim for the updates.

I am glad manslaughter is on the cards now (still hope they have enough for murder though) but I do think he was ultimately responsible for her death and if it was not murder I would like to see him pay rather than be out in a few years.

Aaaaah. Now we wait...

Thank you so much for all your hard work and time spent providing us with all the updates through out the trial.

Shall I leave the poll as is? Or set up another new one?

Wonder what is happening it is nearly 40 minutes since the last update saying court was back after lunch.
Ah, so perhaps a juror was asking for more clarification re the manslaughter option.

This is the also the case that brought me here. I had read things on the site before but joined because of Libby. I will never forget her. It has been a pleasure sharing this journey the last two years with you all and thank you to all the locals who provided information, photos and videos. My thoughts are now with Libby’s family and friends and I hope they get justice and are then able to start healing.

I'll do another one. Be back with the link.

Perhaps a new one with the manslaughter option.
I would be interested in how many people would vote for that option rather than murder or not guilty.

This is the first live trial I've ever followed and it's nailbiting. Libby's wasn't the case that brought me to Websleuths (that was Kim Wall) but it's the first I've followed in such detail to the extent of making a Google sheets timeline of it. It will be interesting to see what additional detail is revealed on the other side of the verdict.

Manslaughter verdict an option

Justice Lambert has told the jury it has occurred to her manslaughter is an option for the verdict but it has not been explained.

She said: “There is no count of manslaughter on the indictment but it can be returned as an alternative verdict to murder.

“That would arise if you were sure Pawel Relowicz assaulted Libby Squire and it caused her death in the sense it made one or more contributions to her death and whether he intended it to.

"If the answer is no, the verdict will be not guilty of murder but you should consider whether that person intended to cause some harm and then if you are sure of that you will return a guilty verdict of manslaughter."

Same here. The case that brought me here has not gone to trial yet (Mollie Tibbetts) so Libby’s is the first one I followed from the first thread and the trial. It is so nerve wracking.
