Relowicz never mentioned it could be Libby
Mr Chrostek says he knew about Libby was missing but he did not know it was the same girl Relowicz had mentioned, although the two had discussed Libby.

He said: “Only that I had seen a girl was missing.

“He didn’t mention that he recognised her or that it could be the same girl that was in his car.”

Relowicz claimed to friend Libby scratched his face
Mr Chrostek has told the court that Relowicz told him the girl “started to undo his trouser belt and he said, ‘what are you doing?’ And because he was driving he stopped and told her to get out.

“He said she started shouting and scratched Pawel on the face.”

Mr Chrostek said he could see “two or three” scratches on Relowicz’s face.

His lies are just unravelling

But isn't that what makes it incriminating given what else we know?
Not really as far as premeditation goes. It could be argued and I'm sure it will be, that he ran off because she was screaming (had been screaming in the road earlier too "She said: “I saw a girl at the bus stop near Haworth Street. She was lying on the floor, crying and screaming. She was in a state.") and left her there, thought she might have laid in the snow and died from the cold, and was looking to see if she was there hidden by the trees or something. He could also have lost something there like her clothing (dropped his trophy) or glasses.

The bit he said about not having a driving licence...so he was driving illegally as well? I believe you are allowed to drive in the UK with an EU licence for 12 months, but he'd been here longer than that hadn't he?

Edit, sorry just had a look back, he said he was 'still learning' to drive. He was getting a lot of late-night practice in, obviously.

True - brain fart by me.

So, he was wearing joggers which I’m pretty sure don’t require a belt? So how could she allegedly be ‘undoing’ them?
Also now two differing stories about the facial scratches. He’s tripping himself up with his lies....

Police are saying he wore jeans with black bands on them when he was with Libby.
EDIT: Apologies I typed this before reading all the replies and see others have explained this too.

Relowicz confided in a second friend
Rafal Mrowczynski told the court that, during a journey to work, Relowicz said he came across a girl in Haworth Street who was saying “she wanted her mum.”

Mr Mrowczynski said Relowicz told him the girl was “acting strangely” and “seemed to be under the influence of something but not alcohol.”

He added: “He said he offered to take her to her home. He said he got into the car and he asked if she knew the address, she said she didn’t but would show him.”

Mr Mrowczynski says Relowicz told him the girl was crying and “asking for her mum” and that “he drove along and she started to undress herself and started taking off her pants and he got scared and he told her to get out of the car and she did and walked off".

Friend urged Relowicz to contact the police
Mr Mrowczynski says the next day he told Relowicz to tell the police about it after he had asked him if he knew a girl was missing.

He said: “I told him and he said ‘it wasn’t the same girl’ and I said ‘How do you know?’ and he said because he saw her picture."
