He said: “It was when I went to see if the girl was lying anywhere, I’m not sure if it was the same day or the following day. I thought terribly because it’s strange, I have a wife who is 23 and I felt, ‘What if this could have happened to my wife?’

“I was just driving here [Beresford Avenue] and then drove back home. There was nothing then I drove back.

“When I saw her falling to the ground she had definitely taken something because this was strange.”

Right, there's his excuse for going back then.

Relowicz confirmed Libby was the girl who had been in his car
Relowicz told police again to “check the cameras” for the time as he had “nothing to hide.”

He said he “saw lots of police” the day after on his way to the football and wondered if it was “something to do with that girl.”

“My wife told me on the Tuesday a girl had gone missing and she showed me the picture,” he added.

Relowicz said he has “never kidnapped anyone” and said: “I want to help so she is found.”

He said the girl shown to him in the photographs (Libby) was the girl in his car.

This perhaps suggests to me he was fairly clued up on security cameras in his local area and had not considered cctv at yeast factory for example covered oak park

Relowicz said he started running 10 days earlier
Relowicz was asked by police how many times he had been running before he came across Libby. He said he had been running for a week and three days.

He said: “I have been a few days.”

He was asked why he began to run from Haworth Street on January 31.

Relowicz replied: “Because I would always go to this park with my son.”

How long between the Tuesday when his wife showed him picture and his arrest?

He's made a few references to drugs, did he give her or force her to take something he's afraid will show up?

Thanks for the updates @jamjim.

I wondered that. Perhaps he had a bottle of drink laced with a date rape drug with him in his car.

I just dont see how the defence are planning on defending the rape charge and as he pleaded not guilty to the charge they must be planning to.
If I remember correctly there was 7 months between her being found in March and him eventually being charged in October.

I'm guessing that suggests quite a lot of forensic work including managing to get evidence of his sperm which is fantastic for the prosecution.

The prosecution said at their summing up after saying that sperm had been found that they now believed he would admit to sexual intercourse after driving to Oak Road.

Can the legal brains here tell me sm I right in thinking that once he's been charged the prosecution have to give all the evidence to the defence?

So they'll have had that evidence since Oct 2019 yet it sounded like they'd only recently changed that story?

Be very hard to get round that.

Or him trying to explain how she got into the river. 'She was high on drugs anything could have happened to her'

My hunch is no. There has been references to drugs from the start with the witness statements but i thought it was because they would try and tie it to pathology and argue she drowned or hypothermia and no evidence due to drugs.

I dont know when disclosure happens but I'd guess very early. It would make sense it was at the point of charging.

I wonder if his defence team advised him to plead guilty to rape when thst came out but he has gone against advice.

Relowicz said: “She fell over. I ran out to ask if everything was OK and she said, ‘yes, yes’ and started to apologise to me.

“I had a wee and she kept kneeling there and she kept crying all the time. I was walking back to the car. I didn’t know if she wanted to come in the car.

PR seems to have added a further event to whatever is suspected to have happened in that 7+ minutes between them both arriving and him leaving the park alone?
And the kneeling and weeing here do appear to be an important detail to him.
