I think at this stage I am with you. We know the prosecution have said they now believe he will say he raped her, but that time scale is so close to call for all the rest. Isn't it barely 33 minutes from him first clocking Libby, stalking her, getting her into the car, driving to Oak Road, doing whatever happened at Oak Road, then arriving home? I know his crimes are hideous and have been escalating, and he is clearly responsible for her death in some way, but the step up to actually killing another human is something else. I wonder if we are going to hear any more of his Internet search history. We know about the masturbation sites but I wonder if he had any other preferences, choking/asphyxiation, etc. Shame we won't get to hear from his wife/any former girlfriends about this too.

The defence are really going to hammer the mental health issue.
Worrying to hear Libby's mum's statement about the river/suicidal thoughts too. The sad thing is we will probably never know for sure how things actually played out.

How many steps do you need to get to killing?

He got 8 1/2 years for his previous convictions. Each of those only carried small maximum sentences and there were reductions for pleading guilty. So instead the judge went out of his way to ensure the sentences were Served consecutively rather than concurrently. I didn't even know that was a thing - but clearly the judge felt something about him brought him way beyond just 3 years in prison

If an experienced judge clearly took those crimes far more seriously than the sentencing system suggests it would that alerted me.

Victim statements show how terrified those victims were because he kept eye contact rather than running away when discovered.

And its worth remembering they were all crimes with very clear evidence. Almost undeniable. But I'd guess one of the problems with those sorts of crimes is lack of evidence. Masturbating against someone's door gives evidence - just following them in the street doesn't. Especially if the police don't come out straight away and the DNA us left on the pavement somewhere or in a hedge somewhere

So IMOO there may we'll have been other reports where the police couldn't get clear evidence.

Everyone killer and rapist has a first time and looking at his behaviour after his return to the park for the third time I think we're lucky he didn't have a second time that night

That makes a lot of sense i agree ...then the devil in my ear says why on earth would he admit to one of his friends/ colleagues he had picked her up if he knew she was dead ? It was far from certain she wouldn't be found at that point even in the river

The visit was around three hours before the last known sighting of Libby and prosecutors say it was the first of several visits to the vast expanse that borders the River Hull.

If this isn't a misprint he had plenty of time to put libby in the river.

Because he knew he was likely to have been caught on cctv ?
he indicated good knowledge of cctv when he was interviewed by police - suggesting they check cameras to see what he had - and had not - done

I think he likely was aware of cameras ...even though the things he was prepared to do in front of them may suggest otherwise ..not sure though when asking the police to check cameras about later movements...had he already been shown cctv ..making him aware of its presence

There are higher points than this which may afford a bigger overview of the park if CCTV was affixed there. At night it may pick up headlights at the entrance & the Claremont Avenue CCTV would be used to tie those headlights to PR’s car imo

Remember also that the police cannot sucker punch him on the camera evidence in interview - they have to reveal they had it. This is why he tries to explain it.

More logical is that she "woke up " after he gone and accidentally fell in the river
Maybe didn't drown instantly maybe just lie there for a while and slowly drown when the river level rise and then water took her body away
For me isn't 100% clear that he murder her
Suffocate someone takes pretty long time she was screaming and then he was seein runing to the car just few min after last screem
If she was screaming she was able breathing, it is not that easy strangle someone it takes longer than 3min

Moreover a girl who is 2 1/2 times over the drink drive limit, exhibiting signs of hypothermia manages to survive a rape where she screams yet suddenly gets up sober enough to not scream again lest her attacker returns but not sober enough to avoid a river and drown on entering it.

And despite having been raped in freezing cold conditions overcomes her intoxication and hypothermia to walk thru difficult terrain to a tidal river that is not yet at tide so a few reeds and mud to get thru

He had time to rape therefore he had time to kill. He's seen running away after she stops screaming. Not before.

Great post. That's a clear line of sight to the boatshed and steps, though presumably photography rather than taken directly from CCTV. Hopefully the surveillance camera is similarly well-placed.

So Libby actually goes into the Endsleigh on her own and PR follows her in. That wasn't clear before from the trial transcript. It had sounded as though he took her in there deliberately.

Hi bos, good find. I mentioned yesterday, my dad used to work here-there is full, very good quality cctv covering the full mauri site.

On hdm yesterday there was some cctv footage then a separate video after that showing a daytime walk in oak road fields, they went right up to the river overlooking mauri products on the other side.
The only issue unfortunately would be the darkness, without sounding awful whether he put Libby in the water or she fell in may not have been seen (if in the direction of their cameras) if the view was obscured by trees or the background of trees/building was too dark

The jury have been given two photographs taken from drone footage of Oak Road playing fields, Clairemont Avenue and the Mauri Yeast factory where CCTV was taken and showed Relowicz’s car arriving at the playing fields in the early hours of February 1.
