Could they not have sat in chambers this morning ready to start the trial at 2pm. I feel sorry for the jury, back and forth the whole trial

I was just thinking that. But, perhaps Defence ( or even Prosecution ) only asked for the meeting when they all turned up at 2pm.

Right, back tomorrow at 10:30am so they say. Let's see what happens then, if anything!

At least this gives us time to get a shiny new thread before tomorrow morning I guess!

I believe sometimes they would hold "chambers" to protect the identity of the accused, so maybe he was being asked some questions or something else happening that was too personal for the open press to cover maybe?

I really think something significant will be happening but they will not go public till tomorrow

The Lanc Telegraph updates state that there are legal matters that need to be addressed between counsels.

What's the deal with that? Do threads 'get overloaded with data' after a certain amount of posts (including any attachments - maps etc.) and then stop functioning?

What a shambles. The judge really had me convinced that this was going to be a better week, after last week and setting the start time for 2pm today seemed so purposeful. This doesn't feel normal even given the circumstances of the accused.

This trial has been an absolute farce.

You could be right, 7 mins tops if slow. I will walk and time tomorrow and try to get photos to upload!
Hi all
Ok so confirmed time to top of peel park avenue via Burnley road from last point of LB on CCTV is 4 mins 25 seconds. This is not via Whittakers Arms Path. I have taken photos but they say they are too large for the server to process when I try and upload -any ideas anyone?

My best guess is the Defence are trying to get the case thrown out. Can't think of any other reason why they would delay the start of their defence testimony.

I think this is a possibility as it is always done in chambers to prevent the jury being swayed if the judge denies that there is no case to answer, and tells the defence to proceed.

Either that or discussions about changes to the charge are taking place.

Even without the constant breaks, early finishes, late starts, heating and water problems, the case seems to have been lacking detail and drawn out.

Its almost as if they where waiting on something else to happen.

Not impressed at all with what we've heard in regards to proving the murder charge.

What an absolute joke this trial is. It feels like it's being drawn out deliberately?? Wondering what on earth is going to happen next...
