I guess the question now is whether or not he acted alone or if others were involved.

Wow! So now I am back to thinking maybe he knew Lindsay's 16 year old daughter. MOO

I'm a little stunned, they must have something pretty solid at this point.

Any room for a potential relationship with the 16 year old and Lindsay? (Jmo!)

You know it's interesting I don't know that. I'd assume they can rearrest but there would need to be a significant development. Sometimes delays are just to get a watertight case because they only have one shot rather than not having any evidence at all.

Equally sometimes arrests are made purely because it allows them to question under caution

LE will have made a point of taking the opportunity to gather all the evidence that the suspect may have control over, e.g. digital data, clothing.

In interview LE questioning will have closed down all the potential explanations a suspect may have for their presence at a scene, movements, forensic marks or possession of property etc. The question will have been put but possibly not answered, i.e. 'no comment'. That is not a problem.

LE will continue to investigate after release from custody. At the point where the evidence meets the criteria for the Crown Prosecution Service to agree a charge then the police will apply for an arrest warrant at the Magistrates Court. If the warrant is issued it will be executed by the police and the arrested person will be brought before the next available Court to be charged and bailed or charged and remanded in custody.

That's the simple version!

It could be that he cracked and confessed under 90 hours of questioning. He's only 16 y/o and it may have been difficult for him to withstand the pressure. IMO

Good that they have enough evidence to charge him! Will be interesting to hear more.

Speculative: How many reasons why a 16 year old would kill this woman? How did a young 16 year old hide his crime for this amount of time?

I'm trying to figure out how he hid a body for nearly two weeks. That's pretty crazy. IMO

Yeah that's the question I have most difficulty with. I wonder where he actually killed her.. there's not much information to go on here.

Wow, I'm pretty shocked that there have been no other arrests and the teenager alone has been charged. This will certainly be an interesting case when we finally get to know the details, which I imagine won't be for a few months, probably not going to be this year.

Early on I considered the possibility of a romantic relationship between the accused and the victim and personally, as a woman myself, who often dates younger men I think this idea is a bit far fetched, but I guess not impossible. Im 43 and would never date a teenager or anyone that young (25 an above only haha). We do hear of these things in the media now and again, but she just doesn't seem the type. Although if it is true that her and her husband are estranged it could be a case of her acting out of character due to low self esteem or other mental health problems stemming from their seperation.

Aside from that I can only think of the obvious possible links with her children, mostly just due to them being in the same age group in a relatively small place. But in all honesty I'm just pretty stumped, he looked like a gangly kid in that video and her a tall, grown woman. How on earth and why dif he do it?

All MOO

I'm suprised..cant get my head around this one ..I'd be even more suprised if a random attack ..I wonder if he had a bit of an obsession with her for some reason

Given both their ages and that there doesn't appear to be a family connection, he could linked to her job or kids.

Was Lindsay a TA in a primary or secondary school?

I suppose they do live in close proximity to each other s(or so it appears given the suspect has not been named) isn't outside the realm of possibility that they know each other in some way.

I too tend to tentatively agree. A young teen is often too impulsively emotionally immature to know how to handle one’s feelings or hormones. Especially rejection.
