Who was it then?
Exactly.

If it was someone else in their community, they'd be keeping schtum.

If it was someone outside their community, they'd have put his/her name on a T shirt. Or strung him up.

they are glossing over the fact that rocky had a chance to give so much more information...he chose the no comment gig

his own fault

Can anybody explain to me please, given that his mother is described as devoted, caring and concerned for her child’s future, how she has allowed him to be led by the nose to take the rap for somebody else.
I’ll take some convincing.

Of course the family/friends are going to say all that. I don't buy it for a second.

They've got the right guy imo.

The only thing I think casts doubt over the conviction is there is no obvious motive.

In my mind, I think there had to be a sexual element to the attack and the DNA was simply lost during decomposition, I mean no shirt, wet knees, etc etc... it’s got all the hallmarks of something strange going on here - If anything I think it was a sexual attack which went wrong and perhaps Lindsay fought back more than anticipated and he killed her.

We’ll probably never know but I think they’ve got the right man.

I suppose it would depend on how much the mother knows ? In theory he could be sticking to the same story with them ..if it was the case

I'd imagine that was the advice from his defence team and having learning difficulties I wouldn't class taking their advice as his own fault

I think if they thought they where handing their son in for a murder I doubt they would of done it, I am aware his cctv was published but they could of easily got him far away given how big their family and community is. I still believe they know who was involved to some extent and that’s why they generally thought he wouldn’t get charged with it

He wouldn't have been capable of giving a full account. He would have had to be asked questions and give a yes or no. Maybe the questions where too leading so he was told to go no comment. He actually said very little as far as I'm aware. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall during his questioning. I'm surprised they didnt take him to the place and ask him to show and point.

The whole 'investigation' seems to stink somewhat.

I was wondering about the level of his communication abilities. I had hoped that maybe he would build a relationship with someone now and say things which would clear things up one way or another, but it doesn't sound like that's likely

He didnt speak to them either. The same as with everyone else. Very minimal 1 word or just a noise.

How on earth did they get all of that detail from him then, that was in the confession letter?

Something just doesnt add up, does it?

we have somebody who, when it suits him can barely communicate with grunts, whilst on the other had he was supposedly compos mentis enough to fully comprehend the instructions of an unknown stranger to dispose of a body, a scenario which would leave most adults, even those with a robust constitution is a state of revulsion.

there are certainty echos of Barry George here - somebody who many people though was too stupid to kill Dando despite having a criminal history of attempted rapes, indecent assaults and the like.

There is definitely more to this young man than meets the eye.

I agree and being so young I think that he may have been overcome by the excitement and took away any DNA in his undies. Premature ejaculation.

Just a thought, maybe LB did know her killer as the defence have suggested.. Maybe she had seen the boy in the coppice on previous occassions and they had taken to acknowledging one another, LB would then never have felt threatened by him if she saw him regularly or maybe there is some truth behind the rumours of a connection with the boy and LBs ex...
I know lb well and if she noticed the young man at all she'd strike up discussion with him she wouldn't know to feel afraid I'm also wondering about the ex and connections to rp.

Hi Chow. I am so sorry, what a sad time it has been for all those close to Lindsay. Hope you are doing OK. I also think that Lindsay having worked with children and having teenagers just wouldn't off thought he was a threat at all.
Welcome to Websleuths.

Hi everyone. After seeing all that's been said this last week I'm still pretty much on the fence with this one. I think Rocky has alot of questions that people need to ask him and he's keeping alot back. I do think he needs to speak! His family will now be on the war path as they think he's innocent, but like someone said do all parents not believe there kids are innocent. Unless they know something we don't.
The amount of people though that believe he's innocent is alot...alot from the local area believe there's more to it aswell. I just honestly don't know.

Everybody knows this beast won't spend all his life behind bars.
He was a juvenile when he committed the crime...in Europe they're more tender than us when it comes to juveniles criminals.
I bet 1 trillion dollars he will be out of prison in 16 years or even less

Judge has told him he will spend a minimum of 16 years in prison. Then he will be assessed to see if he's fit for release. If not he will stay locked up.

You can bet he will be released after 16 years...
