Once he reaches 18 will restrictions automatically be lifted?

Not sure - I would expect so unless he - or his family on his behalf ? - ask for a special restriction ?

I believe his 18th is only a matter of months away. So would be pointless to refuse to lift them today, if they will be automatically lifted so soon.

Would make more sense and at least it gets all the publicity over and done with and then Lindsay's family don't have to go through all this again in a few months time.

Hearing started
The Judge is now in court and the hearing has started.

Barrister Mark Stuart is representing the defence and David McLachlan QC is for the prosecution.
Interesting. I know this of guy on a personal level. He worked the Sadie Hartley trial.

I did know he was working this case but was inappropriate really to comment. I actually know his son more than Mr Stuart senior but haven't seen either of them for a while (covid related)

Ah yes, remember now. He did the final Defence mitigation plea for Walsh didn't he. I loved how Tony Cross dealt with his client in that trial.

I expect Justice Yip knew her decision before she got out of bed this morning but has to show she is considering all the arguments made.

Definitely a long 🤬🤬🤬 wait for a decision!

Judge must have said no reporting until she has finished speaking -

I agree SpursGyal, she will have decided before she started today, doubt there is anything new in the submissions.

I think that was inevitable, pointless withholding a name that everyone and their dog knows.
