When I zoom in the shape of the wound looks like a splash (from the alkaline liquid), not grazing from his fall, nor a black eye
The police have also used the word "maimed" to decribe his "significant injury". "Maimed", by definition, is a wound that is permanent or disfiguring.

That's not the definition of a black eye or cuts due to a trip and fall.

Why do we assume the police know any more definitely what the injury is, than we do? Unless witnesses could specifically confirm he splashed himself in that way - which seems unlikely given the speed of events and the absence of any such reference in the public testimony.

Seems much more likely they are speculating themselves - as with the rather wild claim that the injuries could kill him if he doesn't give himself up. Smacks of desperation on their part.

Why is/was he following the river?
Another day, another bridge (that we hear of)
If he hasn't got a phone, or a London A - Z map book, then following the river is probably the easiest way for him to navigate.

Police looking for the Clapham chemical attack suspect have raided two addresses in North Tyneside, including where he worked.
Officers have been searching for nearly eight days for Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, 35, who is wanted for attempted murder after a mother and her two children were injured by a corrosive liquid.
Armed police raided the addresses in the early hours of Thursday, Metropolitan Police said.
No arrests were made.

Also very easy for the police to trace his journey on cctv,so why are they fobbing off the public by pretending they do not know where his actual last sighting was. At what point did he leave the route along the river, did he take public transport again or get in a car?

Armed police raid pizza takeaway where chemical attack suspect Abdul Ezedi worked after revealing possible motive - as victim's friend says mother just wanted a 'safe home for her beautiful girls'

From Mail article linked above:

Detective Superintendent Rick Sewart, who is leading the hunt for the refugee, said: 'The medical injuries to Ezedi appear very significant from imagery that we have recovered, to the right side of his face.

'And through the National Crime Agency we have received medical interpretation which would indicate that his injuries could be potentially fatal if not treated.'

Police approach to the CCTV seems very odd. As I understand it the Westminster Bridge footage is prior in time to the Vauxhall Bridge footage, but was released later. Nobody seems to be asking them why. Does that imply that they don't have a continuous sequence?

No doubt there is some value in plotting his prior route (did he drop things, etc) but one would have thought the focus should be on where he went from the last sighting, not where he was before then.

It's now taken them a week to track him for 3 1/2 hours.
I can’t see any harm in giving more info about his route even if it is going backwards. I guess they are searching through footage from numerous cameras and his movements will not necessarily be established in a particular order.
I agree that at some stage a definitive last sighting will be needed. Maybe he has evaded cameras at a crucial moment?

Perhaps - but (1) a common police complaint in this sort of case is being inundated by sightings. Is it helpful to have a bunch of people saying they saw him on Westminster Bridge, when they already know where he went next? (2) isn't there a danger of confusing public focus - what you really want is surely to highlight the last place he was seen - ie you want all the headlines to be about Vauxhall Bridge not Westminster?

Maybe he HAS evaded cameras at the crucial moment, but if that is so it would be helpful for them to say that - "He has been followed to Vauxhall Bridge but no further, so we are especially interested in possible sightings in that area after 11pm" - rather than leaving everyone in the dark.

I imagine they will find him eventually but none of this is exuding competence, clarity or control.

Likewise the dramatic midnight raid on his workplace. If this was thought to be a source of relevant evidence, why only do this a week later? Anyone there who was (hypothetically) assisting him or concealing relevant evidence could long since have destroyed it.

Crossing water is something fugitives do to throw off trackers and dogs. I don't think going over a bridge is going to do that though!

Could his facial injury be throwing off facial recognition software?

Any guesses for tomorrow's location?

This situation is getting ridiculous. Daniel Khalife (is that how his name was spelt?) vibes

So he has now been walking for 2 hours. In my opinion it is just aimless because he wasn’t expecting to leave his car/phone at the scene. No other phone seen on any of the CCTV.

I think he’s just wandering without a plan but figuring out what to do next without a phone and is maybe trying to look for somewhere to bed down for the night. He might have tried to do that in Battersea Park but it would have been closed hence he turned round and headed back over the bridge to follow the River (and, maybe as and assimilated Northerner, prefers to stick to the north side of the river !)
