UK- London Nine injured in suspected acid attack, children among injured 01/31/24

  • #461
has anyone read anything about the other victims? the title says there are 9 of them?
there would be the two children and their mama and the three people known to have helped them
that leaves three others? I'm assuming their injuries were not as significant but they will still be suffering emotionally
I believe the others were responding police officers.

Yes, I recall that five officers attended and at least one of them was cleared from medical attention at the scene. Could easily have been two officers fine, with three needing further attention.

Whatever that injury is (I think he got some corrosive on himself as well as impact injury) I think it's going to take longer than a week to dissipate.
Absolutely!

In case of bruises, use Arnica ointment.
Bruises vanish magically :D

Ooops!!!!!
I hope chemical guy doesn't follow this thread o_O:oops:

From the mail article linked above:

Police have been searching for Ezedi, 35, since Wednesday after a woman and her two daughters, aged eight and three, were badly maimed by a corrosive liquid in the attack in Clapham, south London.

The manhunt for the sex offender is now in its sixth day and police are offering £20,000 to anyone with information leading to his arrest.

I wonder when we will get the next blurred ,grainy picture of him continuing his journey across London. Any guesses when Police will post an image of his apparent last location to be sighted and where it will be?

My guess is he carries on along Victoria Embankment, gets spooked when he realises he’s approaching parliament at Westminster and then crosses Westminster Bridge to avoid the obvious police presence at Westminster?Added embarrassment for the Met being he could well have walked past/in front of New Scotland Yard. (Maybe we won’t hear about that…!).

Met Police will leave it another couple of days before letting us know this.

I imagine that the press will have a field day if they discover he could have walked past New Scotland Yard or The Houses of Parliament !

Police are going back to the scene and handing out leaflets? Do they think he will return there?

Also his sexual attack victim says he was on the Sex Offender Registry. How is that not considered grounds for a firm, No you cannot stay here? Again, not ragging on the UK because the same has been done here.

From article above:

There is no suggestion the Clapham victim has links to any crime.
Police are expected to give further details of a possible motive later on Wednesday but are not treating the revenge theory as an active line of inquiry at this stage.
Ezedi, from Newcastle, isn’t the father of the children in the attack and was in the capital visiting the victim, police believe

It will be interesting to see what motive the police are considering.

You would think that the area where the CCTV footage appears to come to an end would be better for leaflets. He didn’t disappear into nowhere. Did anybody see him entering a vehicle or building?

This is the clearest picture of his injuries I've so far seen, when zooming in.

''A different victim of fugitive Abdul Ezedi has said he is a “danger to women” and slammed the criminal justice system for not deporting him.
The woman, who cannot be named, befriended Ezedi but was soon sexually assaulted by him after he exposed himself and pulled her trousers down in 2017.
Ezedi pleaded guilty and got 45 weeks in jail, suspended for two years. He had two asylum bids refused but a third was successful after a priest gave him a character reference when he “converted” to Christianity.
“If he’d been jailed for attacking me then surely he would have been deported. But the failings didn’t end there because someone from a church gave him a reference so he could gain asylum.''

That police returning to the scene with leaflets article I posted also had this...though it says police don't think it was his motive. I think the woman attacked with her children had probably broken off a relationship with him. JMO

"Ezedi is said to have been deeply affected by the murder of his sister shot dead by armed robbers trying to steal the money he had sent home to his family in Afghanistan.

His friend from the pizza shop said: “After what happened he was crying for three weeks and he said he wanted revenge. He was so upset and very, very angry.

“When I heard what happened in London that came into my mind.”

There is no suggestion the Clapham victim has links to any crime.

His problem seems to be some kind of sexual dysfunction.
For which he blames women.
Also,
inability to form normal and healthy relationships with them.

Interesting that his fantasy was a bride from his homeland.
Probably very young, naive and totally dependent on him if brought to the UK.

I am not sure whether his story about the robbery can be believed, perhaps he made it up to get sympathy after being convicted for sexual abuse.

The police have stated they do not think revenge is a motive .

MOD NOTE:

Hi everyone,

From the Etiquette and Information page of the rules:

RACE/SEX/POLITICS/RELIGION BASHING, ETC
Threads or posts promoting or expressing intolerant views toward a particular social group are prohibited. Introducing social justice/injustice issues such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, politics, gun control, capital punishment into a discussion is not allowed.

We at Websleuths are not going to solve such a large issue, especially on a thread that isn't about that issue but is about an actual case that is getting drowned out by general social issue discussion.

While we don't want gun control discussion to derail the regular threads, you may discuss the issues here: General Gun Violence/Gun Control #2

Thanks!

ETA: Good grief. You guys know better than to inundate a thread with discussion of immigration policy. Knock it off and get back to thinking of the victims.

Via BBC News:

The man suspected of carrying out the Clapham alkali attack arranged a meeting with the victim before attacking her, police say

In a new update, police say the Ezedi was in a relationship with the woman, which had broken down

The victim had agreed to a meeting, and was travelling in a car with her daughters when they were attacked

Police say his injuries "appear very significant" - and could be fatal if not treated

In the new updates in the link i posted they do think he has burnt his face

When I zoom in the shape of the wound looks like a splash (from the alkaline liquid), not grazing from his fall, nor a black eye
That's what I see also.
