Do we have a cause of death yet or have I missed that?

  • #522
Nothing has been reported about cause of death.

Do they always release this information?! I suppose not if they think this will be useful in bringing charges! If they don’t release it then the only people who know are the police and the suspect! Said suspect could slip up and drop themselves in it I guess!

It’s normal
For COD to be announced I think after post mortem. Can Anyone with more knowledge comment? Seems odd to be charged with murder if COD not clear

From the cases I have followed on here I would say that - most times - the cause of death is reported by msm.
Possibly the police/CPS believe there are more people connected to the murder and need to keep COD private for now.

  • #526
Could there still be a doubt about COD and they are waiting for more tests to come back.

Sadly I think they will struggle to find cause of death if he burned her body so badly it had to identified by DNA

Forensics are amazing they have found COD in other cases where the body has been in a very bad condition.

I really hope so for Louise's family's sake. It's awful to think he could plead manslaughter in the absence of physical evidence, they need justice for this poor girl

I followed the Soham murders very closely at the time - was on Maternity leave and had access to transcript of the trial. The perpetrator - don’t want to name him - went back and burnt Jessica and Hollie’s bodies. Not much survived ( won’t go into details) and COD never firmly established.

Hundreds of bikers are among the mourners who have turned out for the funeral of a teenager who was found dead in woodland.

Louise Smith's body was found at Havant Thicket, Hampshire, on 21 May.

A private ceremony for family and friends was held at The Oaks Crematorium.

Ahead of that there was a farewell procession, including more than 500 motorcyclists who accompanied the coffin through her hometown.

Crowds of people applauded the cortege as it passed along Highlawn Way to the crematorium on Bartons Road.

I did wonder if next week involved his plea!! I hope he pleads guilty so the family don’t have to go through a long drawn out trial

From experience ... they very, very rarely plead guilty, even when they've admitted to it at some point (Aaron McKenzie!) Or the evidence is stacked.
