He said he was also told that someone was seen arguing with Lucy at Mansel Park and that Stacey may have told the police it could have been him (Nicholson), because he and Lucy both lived in the area and because "we didn't get on".

Second mention of Mansel Park. I wonder if he's thought this up since he's been in custody to divert from knowing then about the real scene of the crime, or if he said it to anyone at the time.

Yes.

I wonder what the relevance is of him explaining hitting his head, and if he had a bruise to explain. I don't recall any descriptions of defensive injuries on Lucy.

I think it was reported defensive wounds on Lucy's wrists

Ah ok, I remember a cut on her wrist which they thought had been done to make it appear self-inflicted.

Yes you're right HayLouise I found it

Doctor Purdue tells the court Lucy was likely to have been immobile when the injuries were inflicted but said some of the wounds to her forearm were indicative of defensive wounds.

Am on a break !

I find this bit very interesting.

He said he was also told by Richard Elmes that someone was seen arguing with Lucy at Mansel Park and that Stacey may have told the police it could have been him (Nicholson), because he and Lucy both lived in the area and because "we didn't get on".

But wouldn't he rather be nicked for cannabis-dealing and cleared for murder?

Totally. Unless he was thinking short term.

He is asked about a phone call with a former partner. The partner claimed Nicholson had told her that Lucy had been stabbed and her body burnt. Nicholson is asked if he said that. He replies: "No, not at all."

BBM - hmm but she wasn’t? So wouldn’t it work in his favour if he had said this?

Nicholson is now asked why he did not give his password to police, after he was arrested by police at Totton rail station. He replies: "Because of my drug dealing."

3:44pm

He is asked why police did not find drug related messages on his phone. Nicholson said he deleted them when he switched his phone.

Too many dodgy excuses and coincidences needing explanation, imo. Like not knowing who he sold drugs to at Tanners Brook, going to Tanners Brook at all, burning his trainers, etc etc etc
