Mr Newton-Price now asks about Lucy's claims she had used her bed to stop "Stephen" attempting to come into her room. He asks if the witness thought this meant that "Stephen" was in the landing, drunk and high, trying to get into Lucy's room. The witness replies "yes". The witness said the incident took place because Lucy's mother and her partner were upset at what Lucy had told friends at school about "Stephen". Mr Newton-Price asks if it really happened. The witness replies "yes". He asks if she did it. The witness replies "no".

He asks the witness about the time Lucy told the witness that "Stephen" loved her. Mr Mousley asks how Lucy seemed. The witness said: "She seemed happy."

Mr Moulsey asks about the time Lucy claimed "Stephen" had been slapping her. He asks how Lucy seemed then. The witness said: "It was pure hatred."

In an interview shown to jurors at Winchester Crown Court, Hants, today, it was alleged Lucy's mum Miss White was told a number of times Nicholson had hit her and abused her.
But, it was claimed Miss White, 31, dismissed the allegations, saying social services had investigated it and that Lucy was lying.

The third time was four or five months later. Lucy told me not to tell my mum, because it was only getting worse. I had seen at that point what her home life was like and how bad it was and how she got treated.

Keiran Robinson, a childhood friend of Nicholson, is called to give evidence.

Jurors were also told the girl's family had asked her school friend to slap her "on several occasions".

He is asked about a meeting with Nicholson at a pub. He said during the meeting, Nicholson talked about notes written by Lucy referring to "sexual things".
