Mason cops granted extra time to quiz Man Utd striker over rape claims

The Manchester United striker, 20, spent the night in a police cell after cops swooped over the allegations which came to light on Sunday morning.


Greater Manchester Police confirmed this afternoon they have been given extra time to question Greenwood.

They said: "Detectives have been granted additional time to speak to a man in his 20s who is being held on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman.

"The suspect was arrested yesterday (Sunday 30 January) afternoon and remains in custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing and the victim is being offered specialist support."
